Genesee County Manager Jay Gsell has told WBTA that the Civil Service Employees Union has agreed to a pay cut for Genesee Justice employees.
He also said that Genesee Justice Director Ed Minardo's proposal is "revenue neutral" and therefore likely to be approved by the county legislature when it meets this afternoon.
Minardo has offered to give up his job as head of GJ to help save the organization.
Of course those are the ONLY
Of course those are the ONLY reasons, no real mention of the uproar from the legal community or voters that were pretty vocal on not wanting to see this program disappear.
(Wouldn't want to encourage them (the voting public) to do this more often and think they might be able to actually effect their legislators) :)

Kyle, this was just a quick breaking news story that Dan Fischer broke. We'll follow up later, probably. I'm in Elmira for Melissa Englehardt sentencing. Assuming I don't get to Batavia by 5 (with current delay in proceedings, not likely), Dan will cover the Legislature meeting for us.

I feel that supporting
I feel that supporting Genesee Justice is the very definition of good behavior.
I can't comment on that other thing for obvious reasons, but I'm not afraid to continue voicing my support for what I know is right.
The mere fact that the union
The mere fact that the union has to "ok" pay cuts, just so people can keep their jobs and the County can keep a valued service is pathetic. Another reason I believe unions have outlived their usefulness.
