I completely support McCains decision to add Sarah Palin as his running mate for this presidential election. I have always supported McCain; This only adds to that. As a woman who believes in the tradition of family, I look up to Palin and see her as someone who is not only a leader in her own family, but someone who could be an outstanding leader as V.P. to this country.
As a voter, I still have some
As a voter, I still have some very serious questions about Sarah Palin.
To be clear, I think that the media's treatment of her family has been disgusting, I don't think that her private life should play an issue in the campaign.
That being said, she was sympathetic to an a separatist party in Alaska, of which its President has said that he doesn't "consider himself an American", no lie folks, this stuff is off the rocker.

There are also some questions about her governing ability, although she has had a seemingly successful term as Governor for the past two years, scandal seems to follow her, she's already become immersed in a "troopergate" style scandal similar to our own former Governor Eliot Spitzer

Finally, the Republicans have been pushing experience above all for months and months, saying that Barack Obama isn't qualified, after careful selection John McCain picked a running mate that has even less experience than Obama. Sarah Palin has only had two years of being a Governor and before she was mayor of a small town (which wasn't all hunky-dory either, http://www.time.com/time/politics/article/0,8599,1837918,00.html). Not denoting that experience at all, but jumping from a small town mayor to only being Governor for 2 years is just not enough experience to be a heartbeat away from the presidency. I would like to think that we hold the number 2 to the same rigorous vetting process that we do the number 1.
Barack Obama has had 11 years of experience in legislating in a State government and in US Senate, he's qualified. As for Joe Biden, I don't think that we even need to discuss qualifications.
When you pick a vice
When you pick a vice president as your running mate you should not pick one that said "I dont feel that Barak Obama is qualified to be the next president" on national television.
Two flip flops dont make a righty !
Two words: POOPY COCKY.
Sarah Palin looks good, sounds good and hey folks its POLITICS !
The bottom line is McCain is running for prez VS. Barak thats a no brainer.
If Barak Obama has 11 years
If Barak Obama has 11 years experience in legislature then why does he not have his name on any bill submitted to congress? I couldnt find any. Does anyone know what he has done as a senator besides vote ?
Obama/Coburn Government
Obama/Coburn Government Transparecy act, an African Relief Bill, an Easter European Nuclear cleanup, the Iranian Enabling Sancitoning Act, the Honest Leadership and Open Government Act and amendments in the Defense Spending bill that cracked down on regulations on personal discharges and an amendment that provides a year of job protection for soldiers.

Don't believe the negative hype, the above mentioned acts and bills are all major pieces of legislation that Barack Obama sponsored or co-sponsored.
I hear you. But its really
I hear you. But its really only what it states "transparency" co-written and not that "life changing" for the average American. I will check the web links out to be fair.
Mr. Daniel Jones: I spent
Mr. Daniel Jones:
I spent some time going through the website links you provided about what Barak Obama has done in legislation and "stuff".
While I am not saying that I have changed my vote, I will say that you make a very good point about the hype or lack of credit given to Mr. Obama.
I also agree that any reference to Mr. Obama's being a musilm are totally unfounded.
Just wanted to say this for the record.
Dave, thank you.

Not attacking family
Finding out about Palin as a person
Fair game IMO
what's more disgusting, to me, is that the people involved are doing their best to make it out to be -real love- and -a family in the making- to take pressure off Palin for the "family values" delusionists vote
relationships happen and love happens and sex happens and when sex happens babies happen but in 2008 it just isn't acceptable for a 17 year old to be giving birth
There is a lot that plays into that and you can make a case for anything but the fact is
it's 2008 and getting pregnant at that age is considered a mistake by ...all
I would bet that if Bristol were 15 everyone would be putting the same damn spin on it.
That's sick
That's our culture
REAL CHANGE? Our country isn't ready for it nor do we want it
"The explicit sex-ed programs will not find my support.."
Why the F not? Your daughter is having sex at 14 and pregnant before leaving high school
Why not? Too explicit? what? LOL Your kid of a daughter is doing all those "explicit" things
What other -mistakes- has she -Bristol- been involved in that will one day spice up her autobio into best-selling material?
What about her son?
Obama misfires with
"This shouldn’t be part of our politics. It has no relevance to Gov. Palin’s performance as a governor or her potential performance as a vice president"
REALLY? Maybe this is why we have jokes of people getting elected
Not enough people going deeper than soundbite and promises
Did Clintons mistakes have a negative impact on his presidency? No.
Perhaps Obama needs to keep quiet on Palins private mistakes in order to keep his own private
Mistakes happen
Numerous mistakes happen and there is a problem somewhere
You want to be President or whatever
be stellar, please
not average
"she was sympathetic to an a separatist party in Alaska, of which its President has said that he doesn't "consider himself an American.."
Even if she were sympathetic
he said it
only reflects on her to a degree and that is if she truly is "sympathetic"
"There are also some questions about her governing ability, although she has had a seemingly successful term as Governor for the past two years, scandal seems to follow her, she's already become immersed in a "troopergate" style scandal similar to our own former Governor Eliot Spitzer"
Show me someone younger than 50 who hasn't been scandalous
Not suprised.

Raise your hand if you love what Pres Bush has done
"to the same rigorous process"
?
Most Americans think he's an idiot
??
Rigorous?
If an "Idiot" can fool a nation well enough to be elected president of the USA and NOT KILL US ALL
how much experience does one really need?
Either Bush is not an idiot and instead fully capable meaning he's smart and America is stupid
Or America is correct in that he IS an idiot that hasn't been up to the job
which sadly means America was bowled over by the charisma of a moron enough to put him in top office
Either way America looks pretty bad
America rigorous? Yeaaaaah ..no
Lazario, like it or not, Bush
Lazario, like it or not, Bush was vetted in 2004 and he won (2000 I'm not convinced of), I don't agree with the assessment that a majority of Americans made but it is their decision.
Sarah Palin's family should be off limits, besides, McCain/Palin's weaknesses can be exploited to the extent that attacking her family isn't necessary. I don't think that her daughter should be a campaign issue, this is more about her and if she's ready to be commander in chief, remember that many of our nations greatest leaders had major issues with their families.
Secondly, I don't think that your pessimism is whats nessecary right now, its all "I don't think that we'll ever change, all hope is lost blah blah blah". I honestly disagree, we need to have an honest overview of the situation, realize that its going to be a tough goal to accomplish and at least try to do it. Even if what I'm trying to do fails, at least when everything is really starting to crumble I won't say that I didn't try to do something about it.
