Tug of War in Batavia

By Robin Walters

There was quite the tug of war going on at the weekly cookout for Care-A-Van this evening. Pictured above is Pastor Mike Welch of the Fellowship of the Cross of Elba.

Pastor Mike and a few of his congregation members came out tonight to lend a helping hand for our weekly cookout at Edwards Street. We will be returning there on Sunday at 2:30 PM for Street church when Pastor Mike will be delivering the message.

This Saturday, Care-A-Van will be at 193 South Main Street Apartment Complex for grocery distribution.

We are thankful this was a fun tug of war. As we all know, many folks have their personal tugs of war going on in their lives. Care-A-Van goes forth to bring encouragment,, prayer,  hope and food to those in need.

Thank you to all of you for your continued support and encouragement.

God Bless and as we say at Care-A-Van

Big thanks to all who help out the "Care-a-Van and their mission, and to the ones who strive to keep it going. Tough times, and they manage to survive - helping folks in need and bringing a very important message. Hmmmm...wonder why they've survive? I don't wonder, I know why. Thanks Robin for posting the "good news".

God Bless All

Hey Nick, you are absolutey right
Keep the Light On- means keep that firing burning bright in our hearts and souls to go forth and bring light to a dark world.

Charlie
Thanks for the encouragement. It is a team effort, Care-A-Van, the community, churches and agencies that do the work, but most of all we give all the Glory to the Lord, for it is him that makes it all possible.

Amy,
You are right, we survive not on our own strength and doing but by our faith and believing that the Lord will provide and he does. I believe in all my heart that there are many more people that have a burning passion within to go forth and make a difference. It will be one year since I started volunteering with Care-A-Van. I have never looked back. I know there are some people that the passion is stirring within, I can just encourage people to take that first step and step out.
It is funny, we may think that we go forth to be a blessing, which we do, but the blessings that come back to those who give of themselves is even greater!

Care-A-Van is up and running on Facebook now too, so if you have Facebook be sure to join us there as well!
Have a great week-end all!
