Join the 2017 Genesee County CROP HUNGER WALK – Saturday, April 29th at the
Corfu United Presbyterian Church, 63 Alleghany Road, Corfu.
This 5K (3.2 mi) walk is a great opportunity for the whole family to walk together and learn about the issues of hunger here at home and around the world.
CROP Hunger Walks are annual events that take place in 2000 communities around the country taking a stand against hunger. In the last 20 years, walks have raised over $264 million for Church World Service to assist those struggling to feed their families. This annual event is more than a way to provide food shipments to people at the end of a global breadline. It empowers people at home and around the world to support themselves.
25% of funds raised stay in Genesee County to fight hunger. This year local funds will benefit the Corfu Area Food Pantry and the United Way’s Backpack Program that provides food for the weekend to students in Genesee County schools during the school year.
There will be activities for the children and a hot dogs for the participants after the walk.
