The Stafford Historical Society's annual Taste of Stafford will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, July 9 in Illette Park.
Bring your lawn chair and enjoy music, food and good company.
This year, the event focuses on people in 1929. There was more going on that year than the crash of the U.S. economy and the start of the Great Depression. The historical society would like residents to share their memories and family histories -- those school house days, the smell of homemade food cooking, dad working the fields, hitching up a horse for the first time, etc.
The society wants to recognize the old-timers of Stafford at the event. Send them your story or call it in! Dig out the photos, too.
Phone 344-1554, ext. 8, and leave a message. The address is Stafford Historical Society, P.O. Box 28, Stafford, NY., or mail can be put in the society's mailbox at the Town Hall, Route 237, Stafford.
