Le Roy 19-year-old accused of selling a controlled substance to a task force agent

(name redacted upon request; defendant granted youthful offender status, 19, of East Main Street, Le Roy, is charged with two counts of criminal sale of a controlled substance, 3rd, and two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance, 3rd.

xxxx is accused of selling a controlled substance to an agent of the Local Drug Task Force on two occasions.

He was arrested on a warrant during a traffic stop in the Town of Batavia.

He was arraigned this morning in Genesee County Court and released under supervision of Genesee Justice.

Open your mind. Do you know there are perfectly kind, functional, contributing members of society that use "drugs" daily? The same way others have a glass of wine or a beer. Stop blaming the drugs for everything, and start blaming the parents and family and peers.

Blame the drug use. The young man is responsible for his own actions. Not his parents, his family, or his peers. Alcohol is also abused. Addiction is a road to misery. No good comes of it. I hope better for the young man.

Oh, who we decide to hang out with is the single biggest determining factor in how we conduct our lives. Peers are a huge influence on outcomes for individuals.

This has been well documented in academic studies. Peer influence, good and bad, is especially pronounced in teens.

The old saying, "you lie down with dogs, you're going to get fleas," is true.
