Press release:
“Today, the House of Representatives took action on the first of two aid packages to help people devastated by Superstorm Sandy in October. I am pleased that one of my first acts as a member of Congress was to cosponsor and vote in favor of this bill, which will provide nearly $10 billion to FEMA so it can cover flood insurance claims.
It is important that Congress come together to do its part and provide the necessary aid to help the millions of people impacted by this natural disaster. Too many families have had their entire lives turned upside down. It is only right that the federal government help those impacted on the East Coast recover and begin to rebuild not only their homes, but their lives.”
What a joke. Don't you dare
What a joke. Don't you dare take press for this! They asked for $60 Billion, and it has been delayed and delayed. Almost 7 times as long as it took to get aid for Katrina. The ONLY reason why Collins even voted on this was because Boehner pulled the vote off the floor when he did.
If Mr. Collins cares so much and is up to date so quickly that he's willing to nab a bit of "goodwill" press. What is he doing to ensure the residents of the Tri-State area that they will get all of the money that need?
Is this really what we can expect? Press releases on issues that are far from solved, and have no business being about politics?
Not impressed.
You said it Phil. If there
You said it Phil.
If there ever was a no brainer vote this was it. And he wants to make sure that his constituents saw what a great thing he did.
We'll see how much time he spends in the district.
Kathy Hochul set the bar pretty high in my estimation.
The headline says 10 million.
The headline says 10 million. The artical says 10 Billion. Please tell me it was 10 billion.

Let's see if he lets the Club
Let's see if he lets the Club for Growth dictate his next vote on hurricane recovery. They are threatening to run a primary against anyone who votes for it, according to an interview I saw on MSNBC earlier this evening. Gee, I wonder who might be resurrected for the primary?
