The former Dipson Theater's sign on Main Street, Batavia, was updated today with the sign for the renamed theater: Batavia Showtime. Downtown businessman Ken Mistler purchased the theater earlier this month and is planning several renovations.
Hopefully, Mr. Mistler will include the purchase of enough characters for the sign. There were SEVERAL occasions where you couldn't tell what movie was playing because they had to truncate the titles so much that they just didn't make sense (because they didn't even have enough characters to truncate them well enough). Sad, really.
I'm truly glad that the theater will be getting a facelift! I like the sign, too!
Huge improvement!! With the old sign, that second movie would have been "ON" with the "N" tipped sideways....and it would have been an abbreviation for "Ozzie Osborn and the Truncators".
Big improvement Ken! Sign looks great. Also thanks for all that you do for our little city. Instead of empty buildings, it's nice to see you investing in them and not only keeping them open you make improvements and also keep several people employed. Looking forward to seeing many movies at your theater!
