Karen, a Kingsbury Avenue resident, reports that yesterday around 1:15 p.m. her green Quaker parrot flew the coup.
She's worried about him and hoping an area resident might spot the parrot and, if not able to capture the bird, at least help her track him down.
The parrot has a red band with initials Y?B on it, plus a serial number.

I sure hope he's found and brought home safely. When I was a child, I had lots of pets, including budgies, which are friendly, smart and playful. I was taught to trim the feathers on one wing a bit with scissors, so that the bird could fly, but not effectively enough to soar away. (The feathers, of course, grow back, just like trimmed nails do.) Maybe if you get him back you'll want to talk it over with your vet.
Hope someone has spotted this
Hope someone has spotted this parrot and that he is brought home safely.
Is the bird fully flighted?
Is the bird fully flighted? Anything special the bird would come to when called or food it might be interested in? Will keep my eye out for him and hope he is found quickly safely and in good health!
