Again I say take the $50,000.00 from the monies the county gives GCEDC for their bonuses each year then re distribute it to GCC so the taxpayers will be happy and we can kill 3 birds with one stone. 1) Give the required funds to GCC and get some value for our dollar... 2) Not increase any tax burden to county taxpayers in getting funds to GCC... 3) See if GCEDC still awards themselves such gargantuan bonuses when not using the county taxpayers money for it.
( in other words when the money comes from the GCEDC's own profits rather than the county taxpayers money do they feel as deserving of huge bonuses? )
The county had no problem cutting funding to genesse justice, meals on wheels and are looking into ways to cut the county nursing homes budget ..They, the county also has no problem blaming every thing on state mandates ..Then they can also take a stand with GCC and just say no....All this so they can give out 2.75% raise....
Mary, maybe you should offer to give them minimum wage per hour to swim in the pool and work out in the gym. According to you that's not a lot of money!
You're all for a minimum wage "raise" while I sit here on year 3 of frozen wages and no cost of living incentives for a skilled trade that I've been doing for 30 years. 10 out of the 19 year on this job my wages have been frozen.
If you're all for a minimum wage increase, why shouldn't GCC get a raise, too? Are you one of those people who thinks we should tax successful people at a higher rate and punish them because they're successful? (Which makes no sense to me, BTW)
the more ya make the more they take yes i favor a minimum wage increase. Espcially when high gas prices drove food prices up property tax hikes drove rent up. How can anyone live comfortably on 7 an hour? life is too short not to enjoy it. How can anyone enjoy the little extras in life. Im not a greedy person.
Lets see, $37 million dollar
Lets see, $37 million dollar budget for GCC. $50,000 is approx. 1/8 of 1% and this guy can't find any cost to cut. Give me a break.
