Carl Paladino is a business owner. Can he count on your support?
The Tea Party members are still carrying his signs in front of the TV cameras. You DO mean this Carl Paladino, right?
Bea asked "The Tea Party members are still carrying his signs in front of the TV cameras. You DO mean this Carl Paladino, right?"
I do Bea. Now before you get all hell-bent on me, nowhere did I voice my support for this guy. The question asked by Ms. Pappalardo was being answered, that's all.
And let's be perfectly honest here, if Jesus ran as a Libertarian or a Whig, Prince Andrew Cuomo would beat him.
This state is indeed in need of a change, and Andrew Cuomo equates to the same old, same old.
How can a guy run on a "Traditional Family Values" platform when he has had an extramarital affair (that produced a kid and everything)??
I love how the "traditional Family Values" people who are against same sex marraige are so quick to have affairs. I don't know what kind of "values" they are talking about.
Hypocrite...and will NOT get my vote.
Apparently the GOP can only voice their support for same sex marraige/couples rights/civil union (whatever you want to call it) when they are OUT of office.
i.e. Dick Cheney, Laura Bush, Cindy McCain....just off the top of my head. Bill Clinton is also guilty of this! At least GW Bush had the B@lls to say he supported Civil Union BEFORE he was elected (or selected depending on how you look at it)
I really just hate them all equally.....I don't discriminate :)
Once again the Republicans fail to put up a viable candidate. Rick Lazio appearantly just runs for governor every 6 years, Carl Paladino had already proven to have too many skeletons in his closet, Levy and Mermel lack any credible name recognition to make a serious run. I like Mermel but I'm being realistic about his chances. Andrew Cuomo is in the same postition as Elliott Spitzer was, that of being annointed before the election even takes place. When Cuomo announced his running mate last week the election was essentially over. Bob Duffy was a slam dunk pick for Cuomo. Duffy seals the upstate vote as a respected leader and Albany outsider. I like Duffy alot despite my disagreement with him on some issues.
At least we will have a local presence in Albany in a Lt. Gov. role that appears to have taken on more than the usual ceremonial tasks.
Julie is right we need a buisness man or woman and I dont care if they are Republican, Democrat, Tea party We need a leader who is not going to go the way of the back room deals or special intrests that have this state so messed up right now there is a movenent to downsize local goverments we the voters need to send that message to Albany do we need all this Representation and the huge goverment machine that comes with it. They talk of laying off workers for the state how about the huge political staffs that go along with each politician in our state

Endorsed by the Libertarian Party, Seeking the Republican endorsement as well
What if the Republicans
What if the Republicans nominate a total BONEHEAD? Are these people STILL going to vote for the person???
THAT is what is scary!
Research ALL the canidates (sp?), people.......
"Party loyalty" is what got us into all the messes we are currently in.
Shouldn't we all vote for the best possible person? NYS is in BIG financial trouble.....I wish a BUSINESS owner would run!

Political Dynasties also
Political Dynasties also share in blame as well. I vote for gridlock. If nothing gets done in Albany that's a good thing.

You seem to think Paladino will get the nomination. He's still a long shot.

First person popped in my head was Jonathan Edwards, scumbag lawyer extraordinaire! Cuomo is another dirtbag attorney, apparently.

Ditto :)
Bud: you mean John Edwards.
Bud: you mean John Edwards. Jonathon Edwards sang "Sunshine, go away today" from the early 70's. Great song:

It didn't take that long. The election for Governor was over five seconds after the AG stepped to the microphone announcing his formal candidacy.
Kevin, I don't disagree but
Kevin, I don't disagree but the addition of Duffy put it out of reach barring a major scandal of some sort.

Timothy, were you aware that,
Timothy, were you aware that, as AG, Cuomo wrote the legislation that made that drive toward downsized local governments possible?
ALL incumbents & current
ALL incumbents & current politictians MUST be voted out if this state ever has a chance of surviving............
He seems like a 100%
He seems like a 100% red-blooded American to me.....
