The Ducky Derby is a student fundraiser for Genesee County United Way put together by Rick Dudkowski's Professional Sales and Advertising classes and the Business Forum Club.
They were given the assignment of creating fundraiser to increase giving to the United Way and came up with the Ducky Derby! This is the third year the derby has been done, and they raised a record $2,230.
GCC student Denise Broughton won the grand prize of $669 (she bought her duck for $3 so she got 30% of the total raised). The balance of $1,561 will be donated to the Genesee County United Way. Tristan Johnson won the second prize, a $20 gift card for Tops Markets.
