"Aida: The Timeless Love Story" will be presented by the Batavia High School Production Club at 7:30 p.m. on March 7 and 8 in the school auditorium, located at 260 St. Street in the City of Batavia.
The musical is based on the popular Broadway version created by Elton John, who wrote the music, and Tim Rice, who wrote the lyrics. In turn, that production is based a the book by Linda Woolverton, Robert Fall and David Henry Hwung.
The original "Aida" is a four-act opera set in ancient Egypt. It was written by Guiseppe Verdi in 1871.
The BHS production is overseen by Caryn Burk, musical drama director.
Cost is $8 for students and seniors, $10 for general admission. Tickets are available at the school office or at the door.
