The hypocrisy on the left and among the "never Trumpers" is astonishing. On the one hand they will tell you that Trump is unqualified by his experience and temperament to be President but, on the other hand, they would embrace an equally unqualified candidate because she's Ophra Winfrey.

It is perfectly logical in the left's mind to embrace Oprah. Black Lives Matter love Oprah.
During an interview, Oprah said, "White people have to die!" Perhaps she is a spiritual, woman, although they must be dark spirits.

Why is it that every 2 bit has been actor and actress from Hollywood thinks he or she has the skill set to lead this Country as President? I can't help but think of the scene from the movie Back to the Future where Michael Fox tells the professor that Ronald Reagan is the President.of the US. The professor is dumb founded and replies: That broken down actor, who is the Vice President, Bob Hope?

Jim, I didn't say it was.

Though you've offered no proof of your assertion that she's a racist.

As for Reagan, it's rather a bit of a myth that he was nothing but a broken down old actor. He had been involved in politics for a number of years before running for governor of California. He became president after two terms leading California.

Further, he was very well read -- very familiar with the works of Friedman and Hayek and other economists as well as a good deal of history.

Whether one agrees or disagrees with Reagan's political views, there is no basis for saying the man wasn't qualified for office.

All you have to do is listen to her talk. She`s right up there with Whoopi in her beliefs. Racism aside, what does she bring to the table for you as far as running the country?

Jim, I pretty much don't pay attention to pulp entertainment media, so I have no idea what she says. If you got proof, let's see links.

I won't vote for her. We don't need two unqualified show ponies in a row. I'm just saying, facts, man, facts, not empty assertions.

All comments here are from men except mine. Guess men are still trying for the power in a world that is evolving spiritually. The new realization is that we are all ONE and power is evil.

Don mentions the "hypocrisy on the left" yet with the exception of Frank, nobody who voted no in this poll has had the courage of their conviction to declare who they voted for, let alone anybody being brave enough to state they voted for Trump.

This seems odd, as per the Daily News "Donald Trump ran ahead in Genesee County, with 15,986 votes to Hillary Clinton's 6,946"... and with (it seems) a fair number of TheBatavian readers leaning to the right, it is inconceivable that there were no Trump voters who selected No on this poll.

Would I vote for Oprah? Before we get to that I can say I would not vote for her in the Dem primaries. Should she run? Why not? We've seen worse run (and currently serve).

Mary, there is nothing preventing women from posting a comment, as your comment proves. Should men not comment because women don't?

Why are "left" and "Democrat" being used interchangeably? Any comment that places Democrats left-of-center can't be taken seriously. I can only assume that painting Democrats left makes Republicans seem closer to center.

She's talking about racists ...

She's saying a tiger can't change its stripes. That old people, in this case, old white people who have marinated in hate their whole lives won't change, and until they die, racism will persist. I disagree. There are people dedicated to rehabilitating racists, most notably Christian Picciolini, who is having a great deal of success. https://www.lifeafterhate.org/. I wish these folks well. Racism is vile and evil.

Funny how all the right-wing sites that post this video, cut it off that quote. Some include more context before, but none after. I have no idea what she said after that, but I'd like to see the full context to see if she explained herself more.

I'm not defending Oprah here, but when right-wing propagandists start making hay out of something, I'm immediately suspicious. Their goal isn't the truth. Their goal is to spread disunion and disorder. It looks like only right-wing propagandists care about this quote based on Google searches. (And obviously, I don't trust left-wing propagandists, either. I'm against all attempts to push false or misleading narratives to support any political agenda.)

There's nothing resembling centrist in the current batch of Republicans...

Bernie is left. Clintons were both centrists. Obama was left of Clintons, right of Bernie. Bush the Elder was centrist, and left of St. Ronnie. Since him there's been no GOP President even close to the center. The only reason Trump may sometimes seem centrist is that he uses words to dupe his followers to get something he wants - then he does what he wanted to anyways and claims his followers wanted him to do it.

There is your facts man! She is more of a racist than Donald Trump ever was! I am not ashamed to say I voted for Trump because he was the lesser of two evils. If they run her against him, I will vote for Donald again.

Oh forget it. Oprah triggers Trump being a powerful woman of color. He’s terrified of women, as all misogynists are, it’s obvious. I’m sure his cobwebby pea brain will come up with some nickname especially derogatory and juvenile just for her.

Why the obsession with a supposed racist comment from Oprah? She’s “more” racist; how do you measure that? Quit pretending you are so against racism. You must be unaware of the multitude of disgusting racist comments Trump has made? Or are those okay because he speaks for old fat white guys.

..... Racist ..... from what I've been told and from what I have learned in my experiences in life, the Caucasian (white) male are the only people who can be a racist. The newest guilt trip given to the Caucasian (white) male is the term "White Privilege" and how his life is a bed of roses at the expense of the non-Caucasian (non-white) male.

Therefore Oprah can not be a racist as she is in a minority (non-Caucasian) and she's a woman.... vote Oprah and MAGA ........ bahahahabahaha !
