One in a series of public outreach events offered by lawmakers takes place from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 9 in the Old Courthouse's Legislative Conference Room. It is located at 7 Main St. in Batavia.

Assemblyman Steve Hawley (R, I, C – Batavia) is partnering with State Senator Michael Ranzenhofer and Congressman Christopher J. Lee to hold a series of community outreach events in order to better assist Western New York residents.

“These open meetings are an excellent opportunity for our state, federal and, I hope, local governments to partner together so that we can better address the issues facing our communities," Hawley said. "I look forward to our continued partnership in serving the people of Western New York."

Specifically, the offices will be sending representatives to meet with constituents, similar to Hawley’s long-standing monthly outreach programs.

The second of these public meetings will include representatives from Assemblyman Hawley’s and Senator Ranzenhofer’s offices as well as a representative from Congressman Christopher Lee’s office.

All members of the public are invited and encouraged to attend. For more information, please contact Hawley’s district office by calling (585) 589-5780.

I wonder how many people will be able to attend. Most people I know in Batavia (and in the surrounding areas) aren't able to attending a meeting from 9am-11am. The announcement this late (not that it's the Batavian's fault, this is just the first I've heard of it) also gives people little time to rearrange schedules to attend the meeting.

Maybe it's meant to keep the "mob" at bay?
