Barbara J. Perry, 46 of Strykersville, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, July 29, 2020. She was born June 24, 1974 in Buffalo; to Nicholas A. (Donna T. Conrad) Perry of Strykersville.  

Barbara cared about people and she was always there to help anyone in need.

Along with her parents Barbara is survived by eight siblings, Theresa (Steven) Bernard of Arcade; Nicholas E. (Dawn) Perry III, Herbert (Rhonda) Perry, Earl Perry all of Strykersville; Mark Perry of North Java; Luke Perry of Java; Anna (Miguel) DeLoach of Adkins, TX; Regina Perry of Stillwater, OK; along with 13 nieces and nephews.

There will be no prior calling hours. Funeral Services will be held privately.

Corfu -- Michael D. Riley, 67, of Corfu, passed away Monday, July 27, 2020.

Michael was born on February 21, 1953, in Buffalo, a son of the late James D. Riley Sr. and Katherine Kulichik Riley.

Michael worked for Chapin Manufacturing in Batavia for many years. He enjoyed movies and reading books.

Surviving are his brothers and sisters, James (Sally) Riley, Karen Palloni, Susan Riley, Phyllis Riley and Brian (Vinnie Tjhung) Riley. One niece and several nephews also survive.

There are no calling hours. Private services at the convenience of the family. A Celebration of Life will be held next year.

Alexander -- Gene R. Schmidt II, 53, of Alexander, passed away unexpectantly, Thursday, July 29, 2020.

Gene was born in Batavia, March 10, 1967, son of the late Gene R. Schmidt and Betty Seeger Schmidt. He was the brother of the late Mary Jane Moses and Paul Edenholm.

Gene was a mechanic by trade. He enjoyed fishing, snowmobiling and working on classic Mopars.

Surviving is his mother, Betty Schmidt; his children, John Schmidt, Gina Lee Schmidt, Jillian Ameka Schmidt, Jared Paul Schmidt and Dekota Paul Schmidt; his grandchildren, Gabryelle, Guilianna and Natalee; and his sisters and brother, Linda (Mark) Malaniak, Charles (Shawn Klein) Schmidt, Jackie (Rich) Beatty and Debra (late Jim) Farley. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Friends may call Sunday, August 2, 2020, from 2 to 6 p.m. at the C. B. Beach & Son Mortuary Inc., 4 E. Main Street, Corfu, NY.

Paul Voltura, 72, passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2020 in Redding, California

He was born on November 6, 1947 in Batavia, New York, to Angelo and Angeline (Gringer) Voltura.

Paul had many passions including fishing, bowling, welding and cooking -- all of which he used to make a living. Paulie was a friend to everyone he met and could schmooze with the best of them. He was an active community member volunteering his cooking, welding or fly fishing services to many organizations in his community and beyond. He loved his family and friends deeply and he had a lot of them!

He is survived by his son Greg (Nickey) Voltura, of Indian Falls, New York, daughter Debbie (Tom) Shea, of Batavia, New York, and daughter Felisa (Adam) Westlake, of Fall River Mills, California. As well as three grandsons, Angelo Voltura, Eli Westlake and Davin Westlake and three granddaughters, Sara Voltura, Melissa Voltura and Addison Shea.

He has more Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces & Nephews than can be listed in one newspaper!

Rochester - Lorie Goff, 58, of Rochester, senior financial analyst for Ortho Clinical Diagnostics in Rochester, passed away Wednesday, July 29, 2020, at her home.

Lorie was born May 16, 1962, in Batavia, daughter of Marguerite Park Goff of Batavia and the late Robert A. Goff.

Lorie and her husband “Shorty” spent winters in West Palm where she loved reading books by the beach and listening to the sounds of the ocean.  She enjoyed day trips attending festivals and exploring the beauty of Western New York during the summers.  Lorie had the “Midas Touch” when it came to the penny slots and always shared her winnings with loved ones and charities. Lorie thoroughly loved to work and spend time with her co-workers.  She especially enjoyed family gatherings, happy hours and dinner parties with friends. Lorie approached her whole life with a positive attitude toward challenges, including her battle with pancreatic cancer.  She was a selfless, loving, and charitable person.  Anyone who considered themselves a friend of Lorie’s has been truly blessed.

Surviving along with her mother include her husband Greg Frielinghaus of Rochester whom she married March 27, 2014; two brothers: Stephen Goff of Elba and James (Ellen) Goff of Oakfield; her brother-in-law: Chris (Barb Beall) Frielinghaus of Queensbury; her aunt: Betty Monagan of Batavia; two nieces: Jessica (Keith) Kertman of Palmyra and Elizabeth Goff of Oakfield; her nephew: William Frielinghaus of Seattle, Washington and her great-niece: Cali Kertman.  Lorie is also survived by her cat, Cassie.

Friends may call from 1-3 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Monday at the H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 403 East Main Street, Batavia, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday with Rev. Patrick J. Wilson officiating. Private burial will be in Mt. Albion Cemetery. Barbara Voss Maloney, of Eagle Bay/LeRoy, passed away peacefully at Strong Memorial Hospital on July 30th.  

Barb was born on September 20, 1940 in Batavia,, N.Y.  to Rufus and Mildred Voss.  She was a graduate of LeRoy High School.  She is predeceased by her husband, Michael Maloney.  They shared 20 adventurous years together.

Barb’s love for travel and the outdoors was evident all throughout her life. She enjoyed downhill and cross country skiing, ice skating, camping, canoeing, and tending to her many “pets” in the Adirondacks. Barb was also a creator of many things; she used her special talents to paint, craft, and knit. Spending time with her girlfriends and family meant the world to her. Barb will be remembered for her love of shopping, keen sense of style, her welcoming spirit, kind heart, and above all, her unconditional love.

Barb is survived by her brother, Bob (Georgia) Voss, daughter, Terri (David) Beedham; sons, Randy (Shirley) Sheffer and Tracy (Lynn) Sheffer; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and many special friends.

In keeping with Barb’s wishes, there will be no public visitation or funeral services. Burial will take place at Pittsford Cemetary.

Leo L. Snyder, 85, of Alabama, passed away on Monday, July 27, 2020 at Buffalo General Hospital after a brief hospitalization.

Leo was born on April 23, 1935 in Alabama, NY, a son of the late Milford and Elma (Ostrander) Snyder. He married the love of his life Janice E. Newton June 29, 1957. He served in the U.S. Army Reserves from 1957 - 1963. He joined the Alabama Fire Department March 12, 1955. He retired from General Motors after 39 years of service. He was a member of the Alabama Basom United Methodist Church and the American Legion. Leo enjoyed keeping busy with home improvement projects, playing euchre with close friends, and was happiest just spending time with his wife and family.

He is predeceased by his sisters Beatrice (Jim) Seibert, Aletha (Alfred) Kenward, and Irene Snyder; and his brothers Lyle (Helen) Snyder, Lester (Joan) Snyder, and Leland “Jack” (Arlene) Snyder.

Surviving are his wife of 63 years; Janice (Newton) Snyder; his children: Charlene Snyder and Brian (Annette) Snyder; his granddaughters: Melanie Snyder and Leah (Christopher) Snyder; and his great-grandson: Leo O. Snyder; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends may call Thursday, July 30, 2020 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Indian Falls Methodist Church 7908 Alleghany Rd, Corfu, NY 14036 . Funeral services immediately follow visitation. Please note if you will be staying for Leo’s services, please bring a chair as all services will be held in the pavilion of the church. Leslie A. Irwin, 51 of Batavia, passed away peacefully on Saturday (July 25, 2020) at Premier Genesee Center for Nursing & Rehabilitation.

She was born August 27, 1968 in Batavia, NY, a daughter of the late Ronald Skye and Bernice Masker.

Leslie was employed by Save A Lot in Batavia. She was known to be the life of a party and enjoyed being around people. She has touched the lives of so many with her love and laughter. She will be forever missed.

Survivors include her children, Sarah Irwin of Mt. Morris, Samantha Irwin of Geneseo, Katrina D’Anna of Buffalo and Brandon D’Anna of Buffalo. Companion, David Eaton of Batavia. Also survived by a sister, brother, 7 grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Kelly Brooks of Lockport died on July 25th, surrounded by loved ones. 

She was born on September 14th 1971 to David and Phyllis Brooks of Alabama NY. 

A devoted daughter, sister, mother, and aunt, she is survived by her parents, a daughter, Kelsey Price, sisters; Tammy (Mark) Cassidy, Dawn (Todd) Wheeler, Amy (Louis) Brooks, and many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. She is also survived by long time friend Daniel Price and his daughters Jessica and Geraldine Price. 

Known to most simply as “Hubser”, she valued nothing more than her friends and family. She was especially devoted to her young nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews whom she spoiled relentlessly, not only with material things, but with love, fun and laughter.

Elmer J. Heiman, 92 of Darien Center, went peacefully to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 26, 2020 at United Memorial Medical Center with his children by his side. Elmer was born May 3, 1928 at home to the late Walter (Lillian Berlein) Heimann. He is preceded in death by brothers Richard and George Heimann, sisters Irene Hahn, Marie Welker, Marie Heiman’s daughter Deborah Shaffer and a grandson Kevin Heiman.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1951-1953 in Germany. He was a member of the Joseph M. Collins Post 6239. Mr. Heiman was employed by Westinghouse for 37 years and later worked for the NYS Thruway Authority until he retired.

Because of his love of Darien he became active in the Darien Fire Department as a Volunteer Firefighter, First Aid Instructor and EMT. His passion for history led him to seek appointment as Town Historian where he served for 52 years. He became active in town politics serving as Councilman and on the County Planning Board.

He attended the Darien United Methodist Church. Mr. Heiman enjoyed weekly card games and Euchre tournaments. He will be remembered for the fun times he shared with his grandchildren, his wit and sense of humor and his ability to fix anything with duct tape.

Elmer is survived by his wife of 60 years, Marie (Heintz) Heiman, his children Melissa (Jerry) Allsup of Alaska; Philip (Angela) Heiman of Pavilion; Beth (Bruce) Clingerman of North Rose; Marie’s sons James (Gail) Richert of MI; Daniel (Kathy) Richert of FL; siblings Marian Tiberio of Holley and Ralph (Sylvia) Heimann of Rochester; 14 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews.

BYRON - Mary Yohe, 72, of Byron, passed away Thursday, July 23, 2020, at her home in Byron under the care of HomeCare & Hospice and her loving family.

Mrs. Yohe was born October 25, 1947, in Rochester.

Mary is survived by her husband, Gordon Yohe of Byron.

Selfless, loving, strong-willed, always smiling – Thursday, July 16, 2020, Jeanne Marie Saraceni, 61 of Taylors, South Carolina, died after a long battle with liver failure while camping with family in Beckley, West Virginia. Despite her illness, Jeanne lived her life fully as proud Mom, Grandma, sister and friend.

Born in 1959, Jeanne now rests with parents, Duane (Dean) and Jacqeline (Jackie) Hendershott, Aunt Sandy (Paul) Oberlander, Uncle Lee (Butch) Hendershott, grandparents, William and Anne Glor, Dorothy Dean and Laverne Hendershott. Jeanne is survived by sons, Michael Kamysz of Varysburg, Jeffrey (Kaitlin) Saraceni of Greenville, SC., sister, Dot (Bill) Dustin, brothers, Dean and John Hendershott, Aunt Sheila (John) Henderson, grandchildren, Ashton, Aislyn, Gracyn, Everett and soon to be Marcella along with nieces and nephews, Jeffrey Hewitt, Amanda (Billy) Owens, Ryan (Amelia) Hendershott and her faithful dog, Rusty.

Jeanne graduated Attica High School in 1978 and Finger Lakes Community College in 1980. Her career includes working at Attica State Prison and SUNY Brockport.

Jean retired from York School District as IT Coordinator. After living in New York for 59 years, Jeanne retired to Greenville then Taylors, South Carolina. She loved to cook, host Thanksgiving dinner and dancing to live country music. Her greatest joy was her sons and grandchildren. Jeanne’s legacy of light, her love and her quick smile will live in our hearts until we see her again.

Batavia/Oakfield - Douglas P. Paille, age 80, of Batavia, longtime resident of Oakfield and proprietor of Paille Express, passed away Tuesday, July 21, 2020, at Suzanne's Comfort Care House in Perry.

Mr. Paille was born March 6, 1940, in Batavia, the son of the late Homer K. and Mary Stebbins Paille.

A longtime resident of Oakfield Mr. Paille was a member and past president of the Batavia Area Jaycees and member of the Rotary Club of Batavia. A member and trustee of the Oakfield Presbyterian Church, he also served as trustee for the Village of Oakfield. He loved music and played tenor saxophone for many bands including Little Jake and The Blenders. A licensed pilot, he loved flying and restoring classic cars.

He is predeceased by his wife, Sally VanKouwenberg Paille, who passed away on January 29, 1993.

He is survived by his children: Kim (David) Kibler of Oakfield, Mark (April) Paille of Batavia, Tracie (James) Caswell of Batavia and Kirk (Amy) Paille of Naperville, Illinois; eleven grandchildren: Zackary (Samantha) Kibler, Douglas Kibler, Jared Kibler, Derek Kibler, Noel Yott, Nicole Paille, Kyle (Hillary) Paille, Alexis Paille, Justin (Kaylin) Hamilton, Nathan Hamilton and Katelyn Hamilton and six great-grandchildren; Zeus, Zoey, Sadie and Sofia Yott, Jace Maid and Stella Paille.

Doug's family wishes to extend their sincere appreciation and gratitude to Suzanne's Comfort Care House in Perry for the loving and compassionate care he received.

There will be no prior visitation. Batavia - Linda Ann Baker, 70, of Batavia, passed away on Saturday, July 18, 2020, at Premier Genesee Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation.

Linda was born November 9, 1949, a daughter of the late Steven and Ethel Laskowski. 

Linda is predeceased by her husband, Harold G. Baker.
