Community for Understanding

St. Mark’s Episcopal Church’s monthly discussion series called “Community for Understanding” will meet at the church, 1 East Main St., LeRoy on Thursday, November 14 at 7:00 pm to discuss “The Sun Does Shine: How I Found Life and Freedom on Death Row” by Anthony Ray Hinton.  This memoir hits on many themes, including the power of faith, the problem of mass incarceration, and the struggle for justice.  Copies of the book are available at the church.  All are welcome to these monthly conversations on current concerns.

Meet author Laura McBride

Laura McBride, author of We Are Called to Rise, the 2015 selection for “A Tale for Three Counties,” will present a talk at Richmond Memorial Library, 19 Ross St., Batavia on Thursday, March 26 at 7:00 pm.  This area-wide book discussion project in Genesee, Orleans, and Wyoming Counties encourages everyone to read the same book, to join in discussions, and to meet the author.  The author’s talk will be followed by a book signing, and copies of the book will be available to purchase.
