HomeCare & Hospice Foundation hosts premiere Holiday Wined-Up for Hospice fundraiser on Nov. 30

The HomeCare & Hospice Foundation will host its first Holiday Wined-Up for Hospice fundraiser on Friday, Nov. 30th from 6-9 p.m. at Terry Hills Golf Course in Batavia.

All proceeds will support area patients and families and will help us to continue our mission of “Today, make a difference.”

The event will include wine/beer tasting, music, dancing, canvas painting, wine glass painting, a basket raffle and a cash bar. The Art of Mandy will sponsor the painting festivities.

A Gust of Sun Winery, Deer Run Winery, Wright Beverage Distributing and Eli Fish Brewing Co. will also be sponsoring the event.

Tickets are $55 per person or $100 per couple. You must be 21 years of age to register for the event. Anyone under the age of 21 will not be admitted. Please bring a valid ID.

Volunteers are still needed to help with setup, cleanup and various onsite duties.

Roths present donation to HomeCare & Hospice

Volunteers, especially drivers, needed for hospice foundation's spring bouquet sale

Winter may still have Western New York in its grip, but the HomeCare & Hospice Guild is looking for some extra hands to help provide an early taste of spring.

To make the event a success, volunteers are needed help sort flowers on March 3 or deliver flowers on March 4 and 5 to businesses that have pre-sale orders or even assist with on-site sales beginning March 5.

The guild is celebrating 19 years of flower power and members plan on distributing Traditional Spring Bouquets ($8) and Bouquets of Hope ($16) throughout Genesee and Wyoming, Allegany, and Cattaraugus counties.

Proceeds will benefit the HomeCare & Hospice Foundation.

Drivers for flower delivery are the greatest need. Anyone who can volunteer to help should contact Linda Cummings at 585-343-7596 or 1-877-277-2615.

Tickets on sale for HomeCare & Hospice Mardi Gras at Batavia Downs

Tickets are now on sale for HomeCare & Hospice’s Second Annual Mardi Gras celebration Feb. 16 at Batavia Downs Clubhouse. Proceeds from the event will benefit the HomeCare & Hospice Foundation.

“Join us for the best night of the year," said Linda Cummings, development manager for HomeCare & Hospice. "You will be supporting one of our community’s most needed services. Hospice has touched the lives of so many in our community. Your support will help us to continue providing outstanding services."

Tickets are $35, which includes $15 in free casino play and a New Orleans-style sit-down dinner. Doors will open at 6 p.m. and dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. A cash bar will be available all evening. The evening will also include live entertainment by M.A.C. and -1, as well as a Chinese auction.

Volunteers help ready flower deliveries for HomeCare and Hospice fundraiser

More than 650 spring bouquets were sold in Genesee and Wyoming counties during the pre-sale period for 18th annual event, which benefits the HomeCare & Hospice Foundation, according to Linda Cummings, development director (top photo).

Volunteers from Notre Dame and Pembroke high schools and Batavia Kiwanis were at the First Presbyterian Church in Batavia today to help get the arrangements in buckets and boxes and properly marked for deliver on Monday.

If you didn't get your order in on time, there's still plenty of opportunity to make a purchase.

On-site sales will take place:

  • Noon to 6 p.m., Tuesday, Batavia Downs
  • 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Tuesday and Wednesday, UMMC
  • Noon to 3 p.m., Wednesday, and noon to 5 p.m., Thursday, at the Bank of Castile
  • Noon to 5 p.m., Thursday and Friday at First Niagara Bank.

Traditional bouquets are $8 and the Bouquet of Hope is $16.

Doors will open at 6 p.m. Around-the-World grazing stations, featuring international cuisine, will be open from 6:30 until 8 p.m. and a cash bar will be available all evening. Drawings for prize baskets will be held throughout the night, including a giveaway for an overnight stay at the Del Monte Inn. Winners must be present at the time of the drawing.

Providing live music will be John Starowitz with host band Savage Cabbage, as well as Mac & Company, The Trolls, The Nichols Brothers Band, and Above the Fog.

Time to order spring flowers to benefit HomeCare & Hospice Foundation

The HomeCare & Hospice Guild is accepting pre-sale orders for the 18th Annual Spring Bouquet Sale. Proceeds will benefit the HomeCare & Hospice Foundation.

Pre-sale orders and payment must be placed by Feb. 1. Flowers will be delivered to businesses on March 6 and 7. On-site sales at local businesses will begin March 7. Flowers can also be purchased at HomeCare & Hospice offices and online at www.homecare-hospice.org.

“By purchasing a Traditional Bouquet for $8 or a Bouquet of Hope for $16, you can make a difference," said Linda Cummings, development manager. "Your dollars help support home care and hospice patients in your community."

Volunteers are needed to help sort on the day of delivery and to help deliver flowers to businesses in Genesee, Wyoming, Allegany and Cattaraugus counties. People willing to help should contact Cummings at (585) 343-7526.
