Conversations with Calliope- Progress in the Vineyard

JOE: Good morning Calliope.
CALLIOPE: Good morning Joe. How goes it today?
JOE: Well. I'm hard at work.
CALLIOPE: Continuing to review your novel?
JOE: Correct. I have pored over eighty-eight pages of Marital Property.
CALLIOPE: What have you discovered?
JOE: I am happy with the plot, character development and the rotating point of view.
CALLIOPE: Did you encounter any difficulties?
JOE: Nothing of much importance. I did find minor typos and ways to improve wording and phrasing.
CALLIOPE: So you are happy with what you see?
JOE: In general, yes. I think my characters and I were getting a little too familiar with each other. The break has been good for all of us and we are ready to get back to work.
CALLIOPE: Do you have a deadline for finishing work on the manuscript?
JOE: No. I have learned from past projects that pushing myself leads to mistakes although I satisfy my impulsive nature. I'm working on patience.
CALLIOPE: Good for you.
JOE: Talk with you tomorrow.

 

Conversations with Calliope- Back to Writing

JOE: Good afternoon Calliope.
CALLIOPE: Good afternoon Joe. Did you just get up?
JOE: Don't be cute. I was up at 6:30 and planned to make a few minor corrections to my websites before contacting you.
CALLIOPE: So what happened?
JOE: I screwed up more than I fixed and it took a while to get back to where I was.
CALLIOPE: Is everything okay now?
JOE: As far as I can tell. Take a look at my websites at www.commonsense wisdom.com and www.slidingotter.com and let me know what you think.
CALLIOPE: I'll do that. Maybe some of our readers will too.
JOE: I'd welcome that.
CALLIOPE: So now what?
JOE: I have some more to do with my websites but I am weary of the process now.
CALLIOPE: Do you have some other pursuits in mind.
JOE: Yes. I will take some time to work on my writing. I plan to ready for publication our book based on this blog.
CALLIOPE: I can't wait to see it.
JOE: Neither can I. Talk with you on Monday.

 

 

Conversations with Calliope- Reorienting

JOE: Good morning Calliope.
CALLIOPE: Good morning Joe. How are you today?
JOE: Working on getting my life back in perspective.
CALLIOPE: How so?
JOE: I was excited about the prospect of starting soon with AmeriCorps and getting involved with people on a volunteer basis.
CALLIOPE: And?
JOE: I explored the options and have come to the conclusion that the position I most want will not be available until October.
CALLIOPE: Are you disappointed?
JOE: A little. I was hoping to get on with it. But I don't want to jump into something that would be less satisfying just for the sake of doing it.
CALLIOPE: Sounds like you are finally developing some patience.
JOE: It's about time. I am learning that I don't have to make things happen. Life has its own pace and every situation has its opportunities.
CALLIOPE: Which are?
JOE: That's a good question. I am in the middle of several writing projects. Perhaps the message is for me to finish them before starting a new adventure.
CALLIOPE: Perhaps.
JOE: I'll get back to work on them while I'm waiting. Talk with you tomorrow.

JOE: Good morning Calliope.
CALLIOPE: Good morning Joe. How are you today?
JOE: Hanging on by a thread. I keep hoping to be recovered from my cold but it won't seem to let go.
CALLIOPE: Sorry to hear it. That must be a drag.
JOE: It is. Looking back over the week, I'm glad to have accomplished anything.
CALLIOPE: Not a stellar week?
JOE: Sometimes survival is a feat.
CALLIOPE: Any plans for today.
JOE: Tentative ones at best. I have managed some chapters of our new book, based on our blogs together. Maybe I can continue working on it.
CALLIOPE: Don't push yourself. Sometimes it's best to relax and let nature take its course.
JOE: Sound advice. I don't have too many expectations. However I will be ready for any energy which passes my way.
CALLIOPE: Take care of yourself.
JOE: I will. Talk with you on Monday.
