Lisa Felicia sent over this picture she took at Genesee Community College on Friday of a pair of contrails crisscrossing for an interesting photographic composition.  

Billy Truitt, who cuts a few lawns on the side, said he's been doing it this way for years -- dragging his lawnmower along local streets -- in the case Ellicott Avenue -- going from one lawn-cutting job to another.

This evening's sunset as seen from Bank Street Road looking over the Genesee County Airport.

Earlier today, the motorcade of President Barack Obama passed through Genesee County. These photos, submitted by Jordan Difilippo, show the motorcade passing through Genesee County on the Thruway. The photos were taken from Keiffer Road in Pembroke.

A helicopter was first to pass by, followed by New York State Troopers, Genesee County Sheriffs, several law enforcement motorcycles, then more State Troopers, Secret Service SUVs, the President's bus, more Secret Service SUVs, two other buses, more State Troopers, more motorcycles and then more State Troopers in the back. 

It's Columbus Day, and as the line of mail trucks parked behind the Post Office on Main Street shows, there is no mail delivery today.

Thursday afternoon I stopped at a produce stand on Francis Road to buy some sweet corn (I never get enough sweet corn in the summer) and found these baskets piled up in the corner of the shed.

Near the end of our visit to Picnic in the Park, I noticed a tree in the northeast corner of the park with this fungus of some sort growing on it. Rather interesting shape and texture.

Not much time for photos today, but while out on Wortendyke Road near sunset, I spotted this scene.

Carter Wasilewski, 7, was trying to help his dad Saturday afternoon by doing some fall leaf raking at their Redfield Drive home. Sister Paige, 10, was ready to help if he put down the rake.

City employee Brian Metz hangs a flower basket from one of the light standards in Downtown Batavia. 

City and county officials were heading up Earth Day/Arbor Day activities at three locations in Genesee Park. At Austin Park, the city hosted a park clean-up day. At Dewitt Recreation Area, volunteers and children were out to clean up the park, plant trees and post birdhouses, and at Genesee County Park, volunteers were on hand to clean up the trails.

Tulips at the base of the Emory Upton Monument have come into bloom.

 I was just leaving Genesee Community College after covering the Alexander/Notre Dame girls soccer game (coverage in sports).

A rainbow showed up as the rain slowed, starting from one side of the college and ending out back beyond the soccer fields and past the thruway. 

I snapped a couple of shots.
