Woman smoking in Dodge Caravan with baby inside prompts call to dispatch

By Billie Owens

A caller complained to dispatch that a female was smoking a cigarette inside a black Dodge Caravan while an infant was in the vehicle. The vehicle, which is registered to an owner who lives in Clarence Center, was last seen near the Peking Buffet and left BJs Wholesale shopping plaza in an unknown direction of travel. Law enforcement is responding.

Really? While I can understand the "smoking police" wanting to control everyone, this is overboard. Mind your own business caller.
It maybe in illegal in Erie County now, but not here in Genesee county

lol ...... LOCK HER UP .....LOCK HER UP ...... now now now ....ever walk the hallway of your local high school? I have and I wasn't surprised when I kept reading posters that had the words "see something say something" hanging on the walls.. The children are being trained (brainwashed) to tattle and to feel good about it.... I can only imagine how the caller feels, I think you can too....

I'm most interested in what kind of response law enforcement made. Did this report open up the "probable cause" tool that law enforcement so relies on to find human traffickers, marijuana use, firearms? Did law enforcement have any authority to interfere with the lady's travels? Howard, is there an update to the police response?

I'm not going to take up police time asking for a follow-up something like this.

It's something interesting and unusual that came across that scanner. That's all it is.

Knowingly exposing someone to dangerous substances is criminal. Many people who are brainwashed by the conspiratorial tobacco industry don't realize they are poisoning innocent people as well as themselves. Here's a link to one of many, many, sources/studies proving my "theory." : https://health.howstuffworks.com/wellness/drugs-alcohol/nicotine-increa…
People who smoke are worse than simply "butt suckers." They are an inherent danger to themselves and others. Exposing themselves is their right. If they choose to smoke in the presence of innocent bystanders, they should be held accountable. Including, but not limited to liability for knowingly exposing someone to POISON! Especially children! The corporate pigs who increase the levels of toxic substances in their products in order to make them more addictive, are more than happy to have children exposed to those addictive poisons. Your "right" to smoke, in no stretch of the imagination, should take precedence over one's right to be safe from your chemical weapons, and subtle chemical attack. Even if it's unwittingly.

FLASH--- This is typical of Western NY and NY in general. I remember living in Genesee County and having neighbors -Passer by's and Nosy good for nothing report me to Zoning.. Etc. over any reason they could find --Just to Make my day bad and them selves Happy ! Now in FREE WV we dont do this to each other -- Makes Life Like heaven !! Carry on NYS !

I don't like government intruding into my life either Randy but the law is a necessary evil. Better to have jonny law get involved than having smokers get the s#/+ slapped out of them for blowing smoke.

I ran across an article about a person brought up on charges that might be applicable:
"was charged Jan. 3 with third-degree endangering public health, safety, or the environment".
