A car has run into a utility pole at 6442 Ellicott Street Road, Pavilion.
Live wires are down, and the pole is down on top of the car. No word on injuries yet.
Southbound traffic is being halted.
UPDATE 1:31 p.m.: Apparently, three people were in the car. They are now in a swimming pool near the accident scene trying to wash the glass off themselves. EMS: "We've got three victims here. They are in the pool. They appear OK other than glass."
UPDATE 2:17 p.m.: Route 63 has been reopened.

washing off the glass in somebody's pool?
Sounds a bit odd to me, and maybe painful, but what do I know, hope everybody is ok...

The only thing I can think is they were worried about getting cut in brushing it off. Safety glass, so lots of small chucks.
yeah, Howard, I agree, but

Oh, I'm quite sure they were in the pool before emergency personnel were on scene.
My husband and I went by this
My husband and I went by this today about 2:30pm. It was a hard hit on the pole, as the driver's door was dented and there was glass all over..the victims were no longer there(unless they were still in the swimming pool). What was more shocking was that the electric company was already there taking care of the pole...esp on a holiday..Kudos to them...
Wonder if auto insurance pays

lol, Ruth. I thought the same thing, and what the glass shards will do to the pool filter.
I'm glad they are all okay.
