After the Batavia Muckdogs won the New York-Pennsylvania League championship Sunday night with a victory over Jamestown at Dwyer Stadium, the players all charged to the mound to celebrate the victory.
But that will be the only celebration that the team will be doing until the start of next year.
In a telephone conversation Monday afternoon, Rochester Red Wings Chairman of the Board Naomi Silver said that there are no plans for any parade or party to celebrate the title at this time.
"We will probably do a parade when the season is about to start next year," Silver said. "All the player personnel left this morning. There really isn't much we can do at this point."
Woo ..woo Who cares about
Woo ..woo
Who cares about NEXT year
There goes a real chance
They just care about developing players
Batavia should be/should have already planned for this, anyway
This has nothing to do with
This has nothing to do with either the Batavia Muckdogs or Rochester Red Wings as far as the players leaving! They are a farm team for the St. Louis Cardinals and the players are under contract with the Cardinals. The Cardinals are the ones who take care of the player's post season travel. I have been a host family for five years now. Each year I have two players stay with me through the season. I only had a few minutes last night to say goodbye to two of my new friends. They found out after the game that they would have to be up and at the stadium by 6:30am for a bus ride to the Buffalo airport where they would have to wait all day for a plane ride. Some of the players including one of mine, has to report to the Cardinals training camp for a four week post season camp. I think having some sort of celebration on opening day next season is a fantastic idea!
Yeah, there really is nothing
Yeah, there really is nothing that could have been done. Hopefully these kids get to go on and experience more winning at a higher level.
The Red Wings did a great job and should do an even better job this offseason and into next year.
Thanks Russ for clearing that
Thanks Russ for clearing that up
Damn, Russ That sucks Where
Damn, Russ
That sucks
Where the hell do they go immediately? No after the game parade through the city streets or fireworks show or
you take some pictures, shower, get changed and ride the greyhound? sounds about right
I don't get that, though ..from a fans perspective
Will all the players from this years team be there next year for whatever event? Don't even care. Next year it's over.
Last game IS the parade, I guess. Only those fans showing up to support the team get to share in the excitement
but no new fans
hopefully proven wrong
