Last night I went to Christmas in the City and brought along my video equipment. I interviewed around 50 people, which gave me around 45 minutes of footage. So for the next few weeks I'll be posting a new video every seven days until Christmas. On Christmas day I will post one or two longer videos. So I hope you enjoy the first installment of the "Countdown to Christmas" video series.
Thank you to all the wonderful folks that took the time to talk with me and allowed me to interview them.

I love Bing's White Christmas. We had a great old 40's Christmas CD playing at 400 Towers today with Bing's original version.
I just listened to the Jewel version. It's beautiful!

Don't forget Andy Williams! When I was growing up he had the "most awesome" Christmas album ever...guess I'm showing my age!

Can you really ever have just one favorite Christmas tune? I love the classics but there are a few newer songs that are great too. Mary Did You Know? - Kenny Rogers and Wynonna Judd is beautiful. The Gift - Jim Brickman has already been remade by numerous artists but it also is lovely. I also favor Alan Jackson's Let It Be Christmas.
On a whole though, Christmas music is wonderful because it doesn't contain alot of the negativity the music of the rest of the year does. No matter the age, you can't help but love it. It is universal like a smile.

Elvis Presley, "Blue Christmas." Yep I love this so much I had to find the notes for it so I can learn to play it on the harmonica.

"I'd Like You for Christmas,"- not the Julie London original, the ReMix by Ursula 1000. ...An electronic club/dance cover with a funky bass line, catchy in a hypnotic sort of way. I first heard it played behind a holiday movie promo produced by TCM.

@Daniel Crofts and Robin Walters: Thanks, I appreciate the encouragement.
My favorite Christmas song would have to be August Burns Red's version of "O Come, O Come Emmanuel".

Lori, I have 'Mary Did You Know" done by the Air Force Band in Elmendorf Alaska. It is on an CD that is very precious to me. It is one of my favorites. I just about wear out that CD every Christmas.

Lorie, that Christmas with Bing is a CD that was a gift from a dear friend a few years ago. Both CDs we played at the Art Class are sentimental favorites of mine.

Ethan, great job on the video
Ethan, great job on the video and great idea. While I love the song "Mary did you know",(gives me chills), I love old classic's like "A Christmas Love Song". Its performed best by Tony Bennett, but The Manhattan Transfer does a good rendition too!! Enjoy-and God Bless
