Ok folks.... I just need to
Ok folks.... I just need to vent a little...Winter driving skills? This morning about 7:30am Rt 63 traveling out of Oakfield... there was a reason I was not going 55mph or 60mph for a while... when I hit the gas leaving the village of Oakfield... I saw the RPM guage go crazy indicating my tires were on a bit of remaining ice on the road, so I was being careful. (yet I had someone on my bumper, he was sooo close I could not see his headlights) I wish the Sheriff or State Police would do speed control between Sugar Creek and where the 55 speed zone begins on a more regular basis all year round for the safety of all. Yikes!
Laura, people drive like
Laura, people drive like idiots. They try to pass on the right, they tailgate, they race to the next red light, etc.
State law says that drivers need to have their "HEADLIGHTS" on (not just running lights) if they're using their wipers but I see vehicle after vehicle routinely ignoring this law while the police just allow them to drive on by.
Visibility is of the utmost importance while driving. Speeding doesn't bother me as long as the driver isn't trying to pass unsafely, tailgating or dodging in and out of lanes.
When I can't see an oncoming vehicle because they refuse to use their headlights, that DOES bother me. If the police enforced the headlight law and tailgating law, that would probably have a larger impact on safety than catching speeders.
Lots of accidents and cars
Lots of accidents and cars off the road on my way in to Rochester. The accident on Rt. 33 looked particularly bad so I was glad to read that the injuries were minor. Very quick reporting Howard.
