From the sounds of things on the scanner this morning, law enforcement is dealing with a lot of issues, from stuck vehicles -- including a snow plow -- around the county.
All Genesee County schools are closed.
The National Weather Service says the lake-effect snow warning remains in effect until 10 p.m.
"A ban of lake-effect snow south of Buffalo and Batavia will continue to settle southward, ans slip further southward before drifting back north into areas south of Buffalo and Batavia for a while this afternoon," says the warning.
High winds also continue to blow.
Snow fall in affected areas will hit at about 1- to 2-inches per hour.

My husband just called to tell me that 19 north of LeRoy near Parmelee Rd is messy. It seems that tractor trailers are having a hard time getting up the hill going south towards LeRoy and it's causing problems in both directions.

Lets see some more pictures! I live in Kansas City now and my mom is suppose to fly from Rochester to KC later today and I would like to see what she has to contend with.

I live in Oakfield. Fisher road to Lockport to Albion road to the 5 corners is drifted up pretty bad and barely plowed. The usual out here in the country. I have about 5 inches of snow unplowed on the road on my way to work.

Just drove in to Rochester. Route 33 was a slow go because it wasn't very well plowed but visibility was fine. 490 was a little slow. I only saw 1 car off the road this morning. Everyone knew enough to slow down.

There is nothing like a snow day! One of my best school memories is being snowed in overnight at LeRoy High school (1977).
My daughter turns 12 today
My daughter turns 12 today and got the best birthday present ever. And Jerry - I remember that day very well. I walked almost a mile home from school and barely made it.

Don- I'm sure there will be quite a few photos today from various people on the site, and I will have some posted soon as well.
Anthony- I can't see Hawley @ Batavia Stafford Townline at all from my window at the south end of College Village. In fact I can't see past the trees in the middle of the field. I'd estimate visibility at GCC Batavia to be less than 100 feet and decreasing. No idea on road conditions, I haven't been out yet.
