Wanted by the Genesee County Sheriff's Office for an alleged violation of probation: Christopher A. Laird.
Laird was placed on probation following a charge of burglary 2nd. He has reportedly failed to comply with the terms of his probation.
Laird frequents the Village of LeRoy and the City of Batavia.
Warrant Officer Eric Olson asks that people with information on the whereabouts of Laird call 911.
Other than than the obvious
Other than than the obvious reason of getting him off the street so he doesn't burgle another residence or business, is a reward being offered if someone turns him in?
If rewards were offered, they'd probably be more likely to get their man back into custody. The reward could be something like whatever property the wanted person owns. Cars, motorcycles, real estate, savings (laughing), gold teeth, illegal drugs (laughing again), trust funds..etc.
It sounds reasonable to me. Give people the incentive to stick their neck out and they probably will.
Doug, judging by the fact
Doug, judging by the fact that the first two of these wanteds that we ran, the suspect was turned in within hours of the post, a reward doesn't seem to be much required.
Whatever happened to doing
Whatever happened to doing something just because it is the right thing to do? Why does everyone expect something in return? It seems people are willing to do something only if they get a reward for doing it. What is that teaching our youth? It happens in schools all the time (the need to reward or give a prize for something they should be doing anyway.) I have a problem with that.
Amen Amy!! I couldn't have
Amen Amy!! I couldn't have said it better!! Such entitlement in today's society!! People just don't do the right thing for sake of doing the right thing...always wanting something in return....until somebody breaks into their house and then we hear "Why didn't the cops do their job"!!!
Amy, I said that. I said the
Amy, I said that. I said the obvious thing to do is turn them in anyway but people often don't want to get involved because it's risky. When the person finds out who told on them, things can get ugly. Please read what's written.
I did read what was written
I did read what was written and was not criticizing your comment in anyway. Don't be so defensive.
