700 Billion Dollar "Bailout"

By Mark Wiatrowski

Let me begin by saying that I'm far from being a genius. All this talk about this large bailout has me concerned and confused.

Big corporations and lending institutions have made a grave misjudgement in how they handle their finances. The apparent answer is for the American people to pay the government this money that they gave to these institutions to keep operating.

Why do we have to foot the bill for other peoples mistakes? If I mishandle my finances, I'm sure not going to ask my neighbors to pay for it.

I understand the country is in trouble, but I feel that the ones responsible for this situation should be the ones to correct it.

Steve Ognibene

Absolutely 100% correct. I think our govt, congress, and anyone who has contributed to this financial crisis we are in, should take it out of their salaries. Including those gas/fuel companies who have made the billions on us. Let's make them chip in heavily towards it and NOT the tax payers !!!

Here the crazy thing about it..They claim that we wont be able to get credit if this bailout doesn't go thru, but on the other hand they {the government} claim that most americans are over extended with credit cards and loan debt..and dont make enought to pay our bills, but we need to get more credit and go deeper in debt.this train of thought is crazy to me..Until they figure a way to increase our wages so that we bring home more money every week ,we cannot afford or should we try to get more credit..The only people who seem to be making out are those on the top..Same with this bull about housing values are falling, maybe they were to high to begin with and needed to come down. You buy a car and it goes down in value,A house can do the same.Lets see them cut some of these bloated budgets before they hand out money so some CEO can leave with a couple of million in his pocket....

There is no justification to help bail them out. When they made money, they kept it. When they lose money, they should not get mine to make up for it. They knew what they were doing.

This is the power the rich ruling class has over the country
We have given this to them

If they fall
We all sink that much deeper

this is at least their argument and who has time to argue it when you have to work 40 hours a week and duct tape your kids shoes

People are not strong enough to deal with such things
We will end up crying for mom just as they are if were to allow those responsible to get spanked
It would level the playing field -a bit- but who has the guts to live through a POSSIBLE depression ..or anything even remotely close to one
LOL
The poor wont come through richer
they don't have the education or are disabled etc
The middle class will play the same game to get ahead as the rich but the rich of course have the tradition
You end up with basically the same system and setup as before the "depression" so all you'd really be doing is

standing up for your beliefs
putting a little less food on the table than you have now
hopefully humiliating the powerful a smidge

Give them their money
Change the rules

Everyone has their hand out. Remember Council member Bill Cox wanting the tax payer to clean bird crap off the roof of private property? Remember council member Frank Ferrando not wanting the Towns and villages to pay their fair share for City ambulance help. Just stick out your hand. Somebody will try to buy your vote, giving you something for "free", using your money to do it.

It starts here, and goes all the way to the FED.

But at least here, you can talk to the guy you think has his hand out unfairly. And you can have a voice in a council chamber or a site this and the people who might decisions might actually here that voice. We've let too much control over our lives get taken over by a bigger and bigger government.

Oh dont worry anymore they will pass a bill that will allow everyone to continue living on credit but have strickter guidelines and higher interest rates.
You will still be allowed to buy things you cant afford.
Hopefully the Dollar will stay above the Peso !
