The following are arrests from Friday's Brad Paisley Concert at Darien Lake:
James P. Balcom, 34, of Schutt Court, Grand Island, is charged with disorderly conduct. Balcom is accused of fighting with security. He was jailed on $250 bail.
Matthew G. Costanzo, 27, of Fletcher Street, Tonawanda, is charged with disorderly conduct. Costanzo is accused of fighting with security. He was jailed on $150 bail.
Samuel M. Muscarella, 23, of Exchange Street, Alden, is charged with assault, 3rd. Muscarella is accused of punching another person in the face, causing a cut above his eye requiring stitches. Muscarella was jailed on $250 bail.
Dayna L. Maimone, 22, of Viking Circle, Webster, is charged with trespass. Maimone allegedly re-entered the concert venue after being ejected.
Kevin G. Manners, 39, of Crandal Ave., Kendal, is charged with harassment, 2nd. Manners allegedly hit a security guard will being ejected from the concert venue.
(Name Redacted), 20, of Patricia Lane, Cheektowaga, allegedly hit another person in the throat (charge not listed in release).
Casie Jo Clearwater, 20, of Patricia lane, Cheektowaga, charged with two counts of harassment, 2nd. Clearwater is accused of hitting two people while inside the concert venue.
Stephen P. Wagner, 19, of East River Road, Rush, is charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance.

I believe most of the people from this county understand and know how the police and the collaboration with GCASA works, and they know that they will most likely get caught. I came from Monroe County, and probably would have risked it before I moved here. Now that I've lived here a year and a half, I give a lot of credit to the law enforcement around here. They really know what they are doing when it comes to underage drinking and many other things.

that makes me laugh. Go up on the hill and you can easily get 500 underage kids drinking. Lets not all bury our head in the sand and pretend the Genesee County Youth aren't all up on the hill drinking away right out in the open with no problems what so ever.

Yes, I'm sure the Sheriff's deputies know all the GC teenagers on site and just let them pass.
You know, the most obvious explanation is just sheer numbers: A lot more people from outside the county rather than inside the county attend these concerts.
There's like 60,000 people in GC, compared to a few million in the rest of WNY and PA who come to these shows.
It makes absolutely no sense that the Sheriff's Office would have ANY reason to give a pass to somebody just because they live in GC.
Look at all the arrests we report for hosting under-age drinking parties, and teens getting busted for pot. Clearly, the Sheriff's Office has no qualms about busting locals.

And not to mention the State troopers and Corfu police officers that work these events. I know for a fact the Corfu police have no problems what so ever giving tickets or arresting local kids.

Chad.....As a previous owner of The Hill, and the person who thought of parking cars during the concerts, I would like to comment on the underage drinking problem. We tried very hard to be vigilant. I often took beer from underage kids and ejected them from the property. I welcomed the presence of the police too. Even with watching for underage drinkers, many slipped under the radar. All the property owners know they CAN BE FINED for allowing underage drinking....so that just doesn't happen. Do the kids sneak it?? Yes they do. Is it encouraged?? NEVER. I used to tell the kids, "Get the hell out. Don't come back and tell all your friends not to park here either!"
Underage drinking also happens inside Darien Lake and the other off site parking lots. I know from talking to the other owners that they try to discourage and prevent kids from drinking too.
I also know that the current owners of The Hill have ASKED the police to come up and arrest underage drinkers.
Honestly, most of the time the police are busy inside the park dealing with problems there.

I guess I should have also said that most of the kids around Genesee County know better than to try to do it in the parking lot and the venue. A lot of out of town kids would not know about the hill, hence why there is so many of them up there. Usually they are pretty controlled up there, USUALLY.

Anthony, word of mouth. When we started parking cars for the concerts, at the second event of that year a camper pulled into our lot from Vermont. We didn't even have our sign up yet.
I asked him how he found out about us and he said, "My neighbor [in Vermont] told me to park here."
Many people show up with hand drawn maps.
And yes, usually they are pretty controlled. When things look ugly, the cops get called.
