The man who owns a silver Mustang involved in a one-car accident on the edge of the Oak Street roundabout last week says he wasn't driving the car at the time of the accident.
The driver fled the scene.
There were two witnesses of the driver running from the car, according to Officer Ed Mileham, but neither witness could positively identify the driver after looking at photo line ups.
"Right now, it's just an unauthorized use," Mileham said.
The owner of the car reported it stolen the morning after the accident.
The name of vehicle owner has not been released.

Convenient how the car was
Convenient how the car was noticed to have been stolen after the accident. The guy is probably on the level just looks funny that's all.
Police didn't talk to the
Police didn't talk to the registered owner shortly after the accident? How is it not reported stolen until the next morning? Also how did the car get in that position against the pole, was he going the wrong direction in the circle trying to beat other traffic? I came through just after the accident, there were 2 guys at the car and they started walking east on south main. I believe the registered owner was either there as one of the 2 guys i saw or he knew who had his mustang. sounds like falsely reporting an incident. I bet its not over.
