A 1978 Ford sedan is reportedly somewhere in the city being driven erratically.
There have been calls on it, but so far it's evaded law enforcement attempts to locate it.
Officially it's "dark colored," but one description of it said it looked like an old-school black and white police car.
Perhaps dispatch should put a call out for "1-Adam-12" and see if either Malloy or Reed answer.
Your really showing your age
Your really showing your age there Howard. How many young people will remember Adam-12...I am over 50 and barely remember it!!

Or maybe it's Jake and Elwood with a full tank of gas and a half a pack of Marlboros....Or was that a Chrysler?
Adam 12 ended in 1975.
Does anyone remember 77
Does anyone remember 77 Sunset Strip? Did you know that Jack Webb was married to the silky-voiced siren Julie London (whose rendition of "A Summer Place" is one of my all-time favorites)?
Both Dragnet and Adam-12 were
Both Dragnet and Adam-12 were amongst some of my favorite TV shows growing up. How about Car-54(where are you), or the F-Troop(the ballon). Come on folks, we're not that old.
They sure don't make comedy like that any more. How about the sci-fi Twilight Zone; anybody remember Willabee(not sure about the spelling), but it was just a dream.

I don't think I'm as old as some of the people on here but I enjoyed some of the shows when they were reruns, like Mash, TJ hooker, ADAM 12, Magnum P.I., and Hawaii 5-O.
Seems like cop shows have always been popular.
I remember watching Star Trek
I remember watching Star Trek back in the 60's when it first aired. We had a little portable black & white with the tubes in it. The TV seemed like it would take for ever to warm up, before you could get a picture. Time slot was 6:00 PM (I think ?) Saturday night on channel 8 out of Rochester. I was glued to the TV. My father thought I was nuts. I've been watching it ever since. Now my wife thinks I'm nuts.
"Live long and prosper", all you Treky nuts
David, Gage and DeSoto were
David, Gage and DeSoto were on Emergency. If it's driving erratically then it's probably "Police Squad" a very funny show from the 80's with Leslie Nielsen.

Hey I'm 30 and I've watched Dragnet, Adam-12 and Car 54.
I also love Spenser for Hire (my forthcoming son's name, who will unfortunately always be welcomed in my house as Spen..CAH!),Magnum PI and Hunter (I used to love Aviator Sun glasses due to that man.
Not to forget...even though these shows aren't "cop shows" perse' they were still Detectives: Knight Rider, Greatest American Hero (Well he was Teacher who fought crime)and MacGuyver!
On a sidebar, my mom made me watch a horrific "romantic crime drama" P.S.I Luv U, with the guy from My Two Dads...Sheer friggin torture.
Does anybody remember the
Does anybody remember the "flapper" (I think thats what it was called??) routine that Jack Webb did on the old Johnny Carson show? It has to be a classic. Howard, is there any way that skit can be posted?
Anybody that hasn't seen it, be prepared to pee your pants. Its hilarious.
Then you would have loved

It actually wasn't that long ago. Granted you could tape a show, but I had to be in front of my TV when the Simpsons were on back in the day. By back in the day I mean the early 2000s, not the same I know.
