About 30 people showed up -- and hundreds more drove by and honked their horns -- at a "Osama Got Obama'd" celebration outside the Post Office on Main Street, Batavia, organized by Victor Thomas and his friend.
The four young men had placed a handmade red, white and blue "Osama Got Obama'd" sign in front of the Upton Monument, which county officials removed early this morning. The sign removal prompted the spur-of-the-moment decision to organize the celebration this afternoon.
OSAMA GOT OBAMA'D BABY! Wish
OSAMA GOT OBAMA'D BABY! Wish I could have been there. Glad they stood up for what they felt was right. Today was a day to celebrate. Can't batavia be known for anything else other than sultry adultry scandle's. I don't know, like the joining of a community to show love and pride in our Country! Appreciation to our troops! And confidence in ourselves, and our rights. GOD BLESS YOU ME AMERICA AND GOD BLESS THE MEN AND WOMEN WHO'S VOICES ARE NOT AFRAID TO BE HEARD!
Good for them! Too bad there
Good for them! Too bad there wasn't time to have a bigger turnout, but at least News 4 out of Buffalo was there, just saw the video of it on TV but can't find it on their site to share the link here.
Osama did not get Obama'd!
Osama did not get Obama'd! Obama did nothing besides sit in his cozy office. An American troop killed Osama, risking his life!
Obama was the one that had to
Obama was the one that had to sign the authorization of the attack, if he did not give his go ahead with the mission it never would have happened, so although he did not pull the trigger, he played a large part in it happening. Not taking anything away from the troops, but it is not like they decided to go on this alone, they needed the Presidents authorization to proceed.

I think the sign was a GREAT idea! Way to go guys!

I guess the county mgr would have preferred Osama Got Bushwhacked.
Its nice to see young men and
Its nice to see young men and women getting involved in this. Keep up the good work.
The removal of the sign
The removal of the sign actually was a good thing. It motivated these guys to celebrate appropriately in front of the post office and allowed other people to be involved. It also got the guys some recognition for a great slogan and some television time, and it gave posters on this website a chance to express themselves.

Sure, now these patriots are good guys. Yesterday morning, they were a menace putting up a sign someone got their panties in a bunch over. Kudos to them. I appreciate their spirit. They were tasteful and courteous.
(Gabor - we're going to get picky about how the colors were put out? That's all you can come up with?)

Lisa, it was just a FYI in case they want to merchandise the sign.
I wonder how they got those
I wonder how they got those shirts made so fast?
Yeah.... RIGHT.... You have
Yeah.... RIGHT....
You have to wonder why they decided to "bury him at sea"... Must be a publicity stunt by the O'liar administration as a play for votes...
Our 'Muslim-in-Chief' should know better than to violate Islamic law and perform this 'burial'. The only possible explanation is that Usama bin Laden really wasn't killed, and O'bummer needs to do something to try to help his sinking ship vote-wise...
I guess I need to ask why I thought they would do anything different...
As for the "Osama(sic) got Obama'd", I need to ask those people with the signs why Obama gets any credit for it? He didn't pull the trigger, and he sure as hell wasn't the one that organized and implemented the manhunt....
Personally i take it as Obama
Personally i take it as Obama is our president there for the "man in charge" of this country. He had to sign off on it. Its no different than giving a congrats to a coach for his winning team. He didnt play in the game but he still won because he coached that team, and Obama represents the USA as our "leader". I understood the sign and the message these people were sending out there.
I also dont think Obama would address the WORLD that osama is dead and lie about it. Why risk more attacks on us for people wanting to retaliate? Its not worth it. Im not an Obama supporter, nor did i vote for him and i wont if he runs again, but i dont think he would put the american people at risk like that when he knows how bad it can become. You saw how easy Sept. 11th happened and how many people we lost, i dont see him risking life to lie about it.
Sally.... If you knew the way
Sally.... If you knew the way it actually worked, you would understand that these 'soldiers' got their permission back in 2001...
Some people will concoct any
Some people will concoct any reason to hate a President that doesn't play for their team. It's sad.
For all the nuts out there,
For all the nuts out there, even OBL's own people are not saying he's not dead. Obama gets the credit for this, just as you would have given him the blame.
So John explain to me how it
So John explain to me how it "actually" works. I personally believe that if any military entity went into another country with out the COMMANDER in chiefs approval there would be such a back lash from the world that it would spin our heads, and would place us on the same level of the terrorists that blatantly came to our country and killed thousands of our fellow countrymen.
Now John I don't know you from jack, but I really don't care for conspiracy theorists since I think they that they either have WAY to much time on their hands and are concentrating their efforts in the wrong area when it comes to our country, or have such hatred for our commander in chief be it either because of his race or political party that they cannot see the importance of the damage this assassination of Bin Laden does to the Al Quadia and is a step towards curtailing terrorism in the world.
As for the burial under Muslim law, you tell me how you would react if an American was killed in a Muslim country and was not given the respect of a Christian burial. There would be so much outrage that it would cause extremists to plot retaliation. What they did was called damage control to prevent even more repercussions than just the assassination itself is feared to bring about.
Thanks for posting it
Thanks for posting it Jennifer, I looked all over last night and couldn't find it.

..based on the prevailing logic- it wasn't JFK's space program, it wasn't Lincoln's battle against rebellion, it wasn't Reagan's victory in Grenada and Henry VIII was not responsible for Anne Boleyn losing her head.

Not to nit pick, but JFK does
Not to nit pick, but JFK does get more credit for landing a man on the moon than Nixon even though he was president. This is rightfully so, since it was JFK's initiative that begun the process. So I can see people feeling President Obama getting too much credit for a near decade long initiative coming to fruition. I, however, wish this one positive victory could raise above politics, offer closure for the victim's families of 9/11, and offer a good disruption to terror organizations. Also with the positive voice coming from the young people of the Middle East region lately, I hope they continue to see that blaming the U.S. is fruitless and attacking us for being us ends in unpleasantness, regardless of how long we need to stay the course.

Nice quote, but Dr. King
Nice quote, but Dr. King never said it.
What he did say
"And the other thing is, I'm concerned about a better world. I'm concerned about justice; I'm concerned about brotherhood; I'm concerned about truth. (That’s right) And when one is concerned about that, he can never advocate violence. For through violence you may murder a murderer, but you can't murder murder. (Yes) Through violence you may murder a liar, but you can't establish truth. (That's right) Through violence you may murder a hater, but you can't murder hate through violence. (All right, That’s right) Darkness cannot put out darkness; only light can do that. "

Further, the idea that people are celebrating death -- either here or in NYC and DC on Sunday night -- is not accurate, imho. They were celebrating -- we're all celebrating -- victory.
