I'm not really sure what kind of job he has done except pushing a bogus 2% property tax cap and buying off state senator Jim Alesi so he could get gay marriage passed.
NY state government is still corrupt and dysfunctional. Unfunded mandates are growing. No tax relief. No business friendly changes.
The 2% cap is a monster sham, and while the state spouts off all of these successes they have done little to actually reform anything. So, honestly I'm not that impressed.
That said, I like to think that Alesi just realized it was time for that stupidity to end, and made a decision of equality on his own. It's time for government to get the hell out of our lives and our pockets.
Phil, Alesi is not re-electable due to his failed attempt to sue the homeowners of a house under construction for the injuries he incurred while he was trespassing. Then he meets with Cuomo for a couple of hours. Comes out and says he's changed his mind on gay marriage.
Quid pro quo at its finest. He will have an appointed post before the next election.
