After absentee ballot count, Bialkowski loses city council seat to democrat

By Billie Owens

This information is provided by Geoff Redick of WBTA.

After absentee ballots have been counted, Democrat Pierluigi Cippolone has officially won the election for Batavia City Council Ward 4.

Cippolone wins the election over Republican incumbent Bob Bialkowski, by a final count of 233 votes to 217.

Bialkowski had won the balloted election by just two votes last week. But more than 50 absentee ballots had remained uncounted. Officials counted those ballots, and the final results were announced this morning.

All official results will be posted as they become available from the Genesee County Board of Elections.

Maybe if Bialkowski and Cox didn't campaign on how Conservative they were and voted that way they would still have a seat on council..They both voted to raise taxes over 30 % and people were just fed up with there double speak....Both of them never voted no on any budget...Glad to see that there will be many new faces and ideas on council..how about John Deleo for an at large seat........

Congrats to Pierluigi and thank you Bob! Having run for office and having been involved in politics, I know how hard it is to put yourself out there and take tough positions, I disagreed with Bob, but I will give him credit for taking positions, even when they were divisive, when he felt that they were necessary. Hats off to him and Bill Cox.

I look forward to PIerluigi serving on Council, I think that he'll do an outstanding job serving the 4th ward.

I also agree with Mark, John Deleo for City Council next year!

Big Congrats to Pier! He will be the new representative in my ward and I am looking forward to his insight. I agree with you, Mark, but I'll take it one further...maybe people should stop campaigning on what they think the party affiliation wants them to and just speak their ideas and ideals. Pier, to me, seemed like a geniune guy with real practical business experience, and not someone who is just trying to stay in office.

That said, thank you to Bob for your service!
