Batavia residents, particularly on Summit Street, are invited to a public meeting from 5 to 8 p.m., Thursday, to provide input on reconstruction plans for the street.
The redesign and construction is a locally administered federal aid project scheduled for completion in 2015.
Erdman Anthony has been retained by the city to provide survey, field mapping and engineering services for the project.
Engineering studies are in progress.
According to a city press release, during the design process, comment and input from affected residents and businesses are "valuable and necessary elements for achieving a successful project."
The meeting will begin with a brief overview of the project and discussion will proceed in an open house format, allowing interaction with consultants from Erdman Anthony and city staff.
UPDATE: The meeting is being held at city hall.
Why does it need to be
Why does it need to be redesigned?
I agree with you Tom....Bank
I agree with you Tom....Bank St.was done over also with new sewer pipes and now there is no curbs on Bank St...Maybe that's what they mean by redesigned....
Besides paving, curbs, and
Besides paving, curbs, and sidewalks what redesign will they be doing? One thing is forsure nobody wants any property damaging trees planted.sure hope their not planning on cutting all the trees down that are there now.I have a feeling they will if they do they should plant a smaller tree species when they did dellinger ave it looked terrible with all the trees down.
I wonder why the city hasn't called back the contractor that did bank st. And make them repave, the whole street was done sub- par at best, they paved over curbs on the whole st., north and bank intersection is potholed and unleveled the road drains into everyones yards with the lack of curbs.city officials signing off on these jobs need to be held responsible.look at the mess they had the ross and north street areas in this past year and they still are not done. You get the service you pay for when a co.puts a bid in %40 lower it should sound an alarm.
WHATEVER IS DONE PLEASE FACE THE BENCHES THE CORRECT WAY IF YOU CHOOSE TO USE THEM!!!
