I ended up taking an unplanned drive this morning, straying further then intended, and then when heading back toward the city, I spotted our outdoor columnist Jim Nigro by the side of the road, with his camera in hand. I stopped to say hello and he invited me to join him at one of his favorite locations for a little nature photography.

Love the photos & the collaberation. Beautiful pics and wonderful subjects. Thanks to you both. :) Not looking forward to the freeze tonight. The wildlife must be so confused...
Not to mention the apple trees etc. I had a sick feeling this would happen (warm/hot temps & then back to reality temps.)
Great Pics Jim!

Mardell & Ange - Thank you both - I'd be remiss if I didn't tell you Howard took these photos. Given his schedule covering news and local events, he has little time to meander off the beaten path. Looking at these pics certainly makes one wish he did.
Earlier this morning, before we crossed paths, Howard took a great photo of a bufflehead, a diving duck rarely seen out our way. I'm looking forward to seeing it on The Batavian.

Thanks again, Howard, for helping me out with the camera yesterday.
