Mark, the training and experience of a Fire Chief, is not even close to what the training and experience required to be a police chief. That would be like trying to making a Dentist chief surgeon in a hospital.
Even in larger cities where there are Public Safety Commissioners, those commissioners rely on the expertise of thier Fire Chief's for issue with regard to fire safety and p[olice chiefs wityh regard to law enforcement.
How about: not hire a Police
