Five people were taken into custody.

After the initial call at 11:55 p.m., at least two other fights broke out while law enforcement was on scene.

Arrested were:

  • Jerry T. Saddler Jr., 36, of 112 State St., Batavia, charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
  • Latoya D. Jackson, 26, of 112 State St., Batavia, charged with obstructing governmental administration and resisting arrest.

  • Samantha G. Reed, 25, of 6 Lewis Place, Batavia, charged with disorderly conduct.
  • J.W. Hardy III, 25, of 265 E. State St., Apt. B, Albion, charged with disorderly conduct.

An hour for the police to bring it under control? This seems very long to me perhaps the police can call for a little more back up I think this city has become out of control at dinner time forward as far as go for a walk. I have encountered out of control fights everywhere. Something is going to happen to innocent people and it always does before something is done.
News flash city manager ---maybe you want to get together with your new chief and do a little control the out of control mess the city has in Austin park is now out in the neighborhoods and the police don't seem to know how to put it in check. Come on an hour to get control WOW>>>>>
Maybe Mr. city manager you can get together with the District attorney and throw a stiff sentence at these repeat offenders, $1000 bail, come on people please quit wasting the city's tax dollars and resources on these repeat fights and put some DAM teeth in the sentence QUIT WASTING OUR TAX MONEY>

Scott,
Maybe you have a complaint with the City Manager, but bail is set by a judge, not the manager or the police.
A District Attorney can ask for a sentence, but again, it is the judge that sets it.
