A Pavilion mother, charged just three months ago with driving drunk with children in her van, has been arrested again and charged with same crime.
Angela A. Kruse, 40, is again facing a felony DWI charge following a one-car rollover accident on Taylor Road in Covington on Sept. 8.
Kruse allegedly had her 5-year-old daughter in the vehicle.
In late June, Kruse was arrested in Le Roy after State Police received a tip that she was driving drunk with her child in her car. The felony DWI count, under Leandra's Law, is still pending in Genesee County.
Last week, State Police in Warsaw responded to the accident and were told a woman and a small child had fled the scene.
Kruse and the child were located at a residence on Morrow Road.
Both mother and daughter suffered minor injuries and were taken to Wyoming County Hospital.
Following arraignment in Covington Town Court, Kruse was jailed on $15,000 bail.

First, this POSs license should be revoked immediately as she has demonstrated she can't stay out of trouble with the law while her first case is still before the court.
Second, it's also obvious she has no wish to follow her attorney's advice, which no doubt included abstaining from drinking alcohol.
Third, why isn't she charged with endangering the welfare of a child in this second offense?
She gets drunk, drives, has her young child in the vehicle with her, has an accident( a roll over accident), and instead of getting help for her child, she scoops her up and leaves the scene.

Again? Her child needs to be removed from her custody for safety's sake. Once this woman can deal with her drinking, then I encourage she be reunited with her child. Save the child first.

Isn't a license taken away immediately when arrested for a Leandra's law violation?
There must be other charges
There must be other charges not listed? I'm guessing leaving the scene of an accident, endangering the welfare of a child, driving without a license etc. (Thinking they took it away the 1st time.)

It seems like this could have been prevented if the child had been taken out of her custody the first time she had been arrested for this same offense.

Often times their license is taken away and then they are granted a conditional one for purposes of work, doctors appointments and school. I am surprised that there are not other charges, especially an endangering charge.......

Her license was likely suspend after the first violation of Leandra's law. That doesn't stop a violator from driving...
In February 2012, I was severely injured in a head-on collision with a drunk driver going the wrong direction on the Rochester inner-loop. It was her 3rd alcohol related offense since 2006, including a DWI (.18) in September 2011. She was driving on a suspended license the night of the accident.
Our justice system takes so long to convict repeat offenders that they are able to go free for months - allowing them to drive and potentially injure or kill someone. Suspending a license is not enough!! We need FASTER convictions, and stronger sentences involving prison time to take repeat offenders off the road.
Had our justice system not taken 5+ months to convict a 2nd time offender, I wouldn't have been severely injured after her 3rd offense.

Jason, sorry to hear that you had to go through all of that. After a 2nd DWI, she should've been in jail and off the road. I hope that's where she is now.
