Deputies are heading to the area of Shanks Road and Sandhill Road, Basom, to check on reports of loud booms.
A dispatcher said there have been multiple calls and one as far away as Indian Falls Road.
About 20 or 30 minutes ago, a deputy checked on a report of a loud boom from a caller in the Indian Falls Road area and didn't find anything.
A dispatcher said one of the booms was audible while dispatchers were on the phone with a caller.
UPDATE 11:16 p.m.: Another caller has said, "It sounds like some kids having some fun."
UPDATE 11:25 p.m.: There's a large party on Shanks Road. Deputies going back in service.
Has anyone considered that
Has anyone considered that the resounding booms were the results of "war drums", coming from a people tired of being screwed over for hundreds of years?
Growing up in South Alabama, and going to school with some of those kids from that area, I was friends with some of them. I also met many more while swimming at "the feeder" on the 'reservation' (as it was called back then). I saw, firsthand, how some of them were either shunned or bullied, just because they were 'different'. Shameful!!
Ed I will give you a thumbs
Ed I will give you a thumbs up. I apologize for anyone who gave you that -1. Obviously they are not familiar with (my) n8v culture. Besides the spiritual inference I do want to express my heartfelt respect that you acknowledge the hardships faced by many. Often times we are misunderstood and treated unfairly/differently because no one takes the time to debunk the stereotypes that have been spread. Thank you for the comment and I am sure I am not the only one who appreciates hearing someone acknowledge. Niaweh
Michelle - As for the down
Michelle - As for the down votes, it doesn't surprise me. Closed minds are the building blocks of our closed societies. Peace, Little One.
Thank you Ed. I could only
Thank you Ed. I could only wish our world was blessed with more people like you. Your words speak volumes
