They would simply become extinct dinosaurs if our money grabbing government would restructure the tax and regulatory systems to make this a much more economically palatable state for business (and living).

They perform a vital function in bring new industry and commerce to this tax ridden state. However, there has to be some stops and controls to the vast amount of taxpayer's dollars they hand out.

IDA/EDC's are in the purest sense a symptom of too much government. As Bob says above, less government,= less taxes = no IDA/EDC. Sorry, tp there is absolutely nothing vital about them.

Wgrz did follow up story on the news to nite...State assemblyman is going to have the state look into the tax break for cor...claiming that Gcedc cannot give out tax breaks for retail development....
