Yesterday, for the first time -- believe it or not -- I visited the mucklands. I was back out there today (yes, there's a related story coming). The mucklands are an impressive sight, to say the least, and entirely fascinating, as I have learned over the past 48 hours or so. There are several of these type of old, low-slung barns out there.

There are many barns out on the mucklands mainly to store equipment but also for housing vegetables and produce too. Since the Torrey family bought our family farm over a decade ago they own the majority share of muckland currently. You should venture out there more Howard the farmers are always doing something in the fields on a daily basis. Right now they are almost finishing planting season but they are out there spraying for insects, irrigating over the summer and carefully watching the crops due to changes in the weather.
