Time Warner canceling plans for tier pricing on broadband

By Howard B. Owens

BREAKING: We've had some discussion about Time Warner's tier pricing plan, so here's the latest news: The cable company has raised the white flag, according to the D&C. The D&C story states flat out that TW is bowing to the negative reaction of customers.

Lee was absolutely correct in his response. Obviously government didn't need to get involved. the customers complained as they should have and won.

Schumer is an idiot at best and thief at worst (see his remarks on taking peoples bonuses that they earned).

That is why they get one. They were doing work at AIG that was obviously going to end their careers there. So AIG paid them a bonus to stay on and finish the work instead of leaving before the work was finished. Thats what a retention bonus is.

TW is backing off for now and re grouping. Lets face it, if they cant increase profit by price tiering they will find another way. I wouldnt be suprised if NYS uses this oppurtunity to raise taxes on Time Warner, thus giving TW a good arguement for a flat fee increase on all TW services to find a happy medium of what they wanted to charge. I am sure TW is rallying the troups for some political support on this as we "type".

This just appeared in my Twitter stream:

"AllisonWatts Our reporter Evan Dawson is on Time Warner again. Are they REALLY planning to not introduce tier internet pricing. We'll see!"

Allison Watts and Evan Dawson are with WHAM 13.

We will see what they (TW) will do about price tiering according to usage. They are already planning to educate users buy implementing a way that you can see how much bandwith you use. Then if you dont use alot you wont mind keeping ur bill the same coz people who use more will be charged more....
