Past management supported off
Past management supported off grounds parking by neighbors of the concert venue. They acknowledged the inconvenience of trash, trespassing, people urinating, having sex and defecating in our yards, traffic, vermin, portapotty odors, noise, nightly fireworks. They felt that if people wanted to make some money from the concerts it was small recompense.
The latest management has no regard for the problems they cause the neighbors. They enacted the policy of no walk ins, stating that drinking, especially underage drinking was the reason. I see that there are no alcohol or drug related arrests for this concert. This is total baloney. What is really happening is that when caught, kids are being put out of the park, often with no transportation. Adults are ejected also. Apparently the death on Sumner Road a few years back didn't make much of an impression on them. Also, country concerts are notorious for heavy drinking by adults and fighting regardless of sex or age.
Now we see that walk ins are being permitted....unless they are noted to be from one of the neighbors. The park also "reserves the right" not to allow neighbor's vehicles to drive parkers into the concerts, even denying entrance to actual transportation companies. After having done some research. I discovered that this is actually violation of anti-trust laws. It amazes me that Darien Lake discriminates against the very neighbors they inconvenience. And that they willingly break federal law.
Also, counterfeit T-shirt vendors and ticket scalpers now have a designated area to hawk their wares. Amazing!! Just amazing!! Blatant disregard for federal law on this too.
