NYS teachers' union endorses Kastenbaum

By Billie Owens

Press release:

Diana Kastenbaum, the Democratic Congressional Candidate for NY-27, has been endorsed by the New York State United Teachers (NYSUT) union.

The NYSUT announced endorsements in races for Congress and the State Legislature last week. The union backs candidates who have championed public education, health care and workers' rights.

NYSUT President Karen E. Magee said, "candidates earning NYSUT's endorsement this year have shown a willingness to listen to our members in public schools, colleges and hospitals. They value their relationships with our more than 600,000 politically active and energized members and champion their interests.”

Kastenbaum says, “I am honored to be endorsed by NYSUT (New York State United Teachers), as they do tremendous work to help improve our public education system throughout our state! Good teachers instill a love of learning that doesn't end in the classroom, but carry us throughout our entire life. I am proud to say that I am a product of New York State's public school system and my teachers helped shape and guide my life.”

This is the second union to endorse Kastenbaum. The first union to endorse her was the United Food and Commercial Workers Union (UFCW) Local One.

So William, no matter how qualified you would NEVER vote for a Democratic candidate? Now there's an informed position.
Please tell me what Chris Collins, trump supporter who lives in the suburb of Lancaster in ERIE county, has done for our district? I'm sure our beloved Barber Conable rolled over in his grave when he heard that Collins endorsed trump. I can tell you one thing, Conable would NEVER have endorsed trump. He was too much of a statesman do to that.

Ms. Kastenbaum is born & bred in Genesee county, the geographical center of our district. I'm confident that she not only has an idea of the sort of representation that we need that she will actively provide that support. The only time we see Collins is when he has one of those photo op checks to present. He's a pretender who is elected simply by virtue of the gerrymandered district he's in (and he's BARELY in at that).

I WILL be voting for Ms. Kastenbaum and I would encourage all voters in the 27th district to do the same

Of course, they are backing the "Lib-Tard" Progressive candidate, because when the Conservatives win in November, we WILL eliminate or greatly weaken this shitty union!!!!

Ummm.....Bruce, I guess I know what kool-ade you're drinkin' but there is NO political entity that can eliminate a union. Just sayin....

Bruce is one of those gifted individuals with such commanding intellect that he needs to use four exclamation points to emphasize his argument. He is the epitome of fruitful discourse and factual discussion.

Interesting! While the WHOLE video (found at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zDmFLMPpr-8 ) probably wouldn't interest most people (because the FIRST THIRD of the video relates to CONNECTICUT issues only), I thought what (attorney) Rachael Baird had to say from 28:35 - 31:36 made sense. Now, for the context of what she said was her "theory", her "lead-in" can be heard from 22:00 - 28:38. But, that breif 3-minute oration (from 28:35 - 31:36), I believe, boils down to the crux of the problem we are now faced with.

And, for anyone willing to listen for the final 5 minutes of the video, Ed Peruta's take at the end places an emphasis on what's happening.

Several months ago, I predicted that Trump would (probably) only garner 33% of the "popular" vote. I stand by that prediction. For the record, my vote goes to whichever candidate is in the best position to defeat the Democratic candidate. Also, for the record, I will state, unequivocally, that I wish it wasn't Donald Trump. But, if he's in the position of having the best chance of winning against the Democratic candidate, then I feel I must cast my vote that way.

Personally, I had hoped, against all odds, that the GOP had endorsed/convinced Condoleezza Rice & Trey Gowdy to run for the president/VP, respectively. I believe (they) may have stood a good chance. As Lennon intoned, "You may say that I'm a dreamer...".

Insightful? Yes!
Astute? Most decidedly!
Sharp-witted? OH YEAH!

As usual, Bob Lonsberry forgoes the normal 10-penny nail, and chooses to use railroad spikes to batten down Donald Trump's coffin lid.

Here is a short excerpt (excerpt enclosed within brackets) from Bob's column, titled "Trump: Fish or cut bait".

[ Donald, you dumb son of a bitch.

You've destroyed yourself, and you're about to take the rest of us down with you.

Do you understand that?

Tens of millions of Americans invested in you, not because they gave a damn about you, but because they love their country. And because you convinced them you could lead their country out of the doldrums of decay created by progressive globalists.

They bought into you. A whole political party bought into you.

And you crapped the bed. ]

The entire 34-paragraph article, Posted August 15th, 2016 @ 7:46am by Bob Lonsberry, can be found at http://wham1180.iheart.com/onair/bob-lonsberry-3440/lonsberrytrump-fish…

A good read, from both sides of the fence.

Oh, you're welcome, Howard.

And, up until just a couple weeks ago, Bob was an ardent supporter of Trump.

As Bob said, he brought it upon himself.

Ed Glow.
As I stated yesterday, although I wholeheartedly wish Trump wasn't even running, I still feel I must vote for him. Why? Because I think a loud (a VERY LOUD) message needs to be sent to Washington, to let (them) know that a large portion of "the people" are fed up with the "status quo".

And, again, as I stated yesterday, I highly doubt Trump will even come "close" to winning. I had predicted that he'd only get 33% of the popular vote, but, as nobody has taken the time to sew his lips shut, it'll probably be more in the lower 20-percentile range.

A couple months ago or so, I was listening to a late-night talk show on WBZ (an AM station out of Boston, MA). The host was asking people who they thought they were going to vote for. One caller actually said he was, and, always had been a Republican. And, he would've liked to vote for Trump, but he was going to vote for Hillary.

When the host asked him why he was planning on voting for her, the caller said, "Well. I wanted to vote for him, but I don't think he stands a chance against Hillary. And, I want to be able to tell my friends that I voted for the winning side this time".

Ya can't beat intelligent thinkers like that, eh Ed?
