Today's Local Deals: Oak Grill, Chap's, John and Mary's and more!

By Howard B. Owens

Reminders of how the new Deal of the Day program works:

  • To make purchases, you must be registered. This is its own registration system, separate from the main registration for The Batavian.
  • Once registered you must be logged in.
  • You click on the orange button, if the item is not sold out, and it takes you to a PayPal button. This allows you to pay either with your PayPal account or with a credit card/debit card. The login for PayPal is completely separate from our accounts.
  • The first person to successfully complete the PayPal transaction wins the gift certificate.
  • You are eligible to buy the same item only once in a four-month period. We use the registration system to track this for you so you don't have to.

William. If you are using a "Windows" computer, try this:
Press and hold the Ctrl key down. While holding that key down, press the + key.
That should enlarge everything on the page.

If you are using an Android or Windows device which supports "multi-touch" (a touch screen), try placing your fingers on the screen, and "expand" your fingers outward.

I have a feeling Mr. Tapp is one of the unlucky victims of Microsuck's free "upgrade" that got shoved down millions of people's throats to the nightmare known as Windows 10.

If that's the case Mr. Tapp, you have my sincere sympathy... and I wish you the best of luck navigating through the many Win-X mine fields yet to come!

One of the first places I look for (ideas) on how to accomplish something is on Youtube.

Whether it's "enlarge fonts on computer screen", "make a pecan pie", or just a simple thing, like, "easy way to thread a needle", I've pretty much found that, if it's not on Youtube, it might not exist. If I can't find it on Youtube - which I find useful, because of videos (depending on what it is), my other choice is Google.

That goes for wading your way through Windows 10.

I'm a Mac computer lover. Easy, intuitive, elegant, cool. Whenever you're looking to buy a new computer, you ought to consider buying one. I think you'd be glad you did!

Quite a few long-time Windows lovers have switched to Macs recently Billie and I have no doubt many more will in the near future specifically to avoid Windows 10, and many folks have started dabbling with Linux recently too looking for alternatives to MS. it boggles my mind that they have absolutely no regard what-so-ever for the home user base anymore!
