The eight county Democratic chairs of New York’s 27th Congressional District wish to make it clear that Rep. Chris Collins’ decision to appear on CNN with Van Jones on Thursday evening in a televised town hall is an insult to the voters of this district.
While constituents have been gathering outside his offices on a weekly basis in good weather and bad to ask for a town hall, Mr. Collins has repeatedly insisted he has no intention of holding such a meeting, even calling town halls “useless.” But when invited to appear on a cable television program with a studio audience in New York City that will not represent his constituents, Rep. Collins jumped at the chance.
So he may find out what the concerns are of a New York City audience, but he’s still avoiding people in his own district. That is unacceptable, and that’s why we will support a vigorous campaign to replace Chris Collins in 2018 with someone who will actually represent New York’s 27th District.

The complaint by the
The complaint by the protesting Collins' constituents isn't that he's a Republican (although I'd bet there are many who are upset with his party/policies), it's that he's too chicken and rude to hold town hall meetings for his own constituents. Yet- he'll go on to national TV and hold a (if you can believe it) town hall meeting.
He is in good(?) company, as many, MANY GOP members of both houses of Congress are similarly too cowardly and fearful of facing their constituents face-to-face.
Sad. So sad.

way back when he as running in the "I am not a career politician" campaign I did not trust him. I don't claim to be some kind of mind reader but when the man spoke and I looked into his eyes I felt he was not to be trusted. I voted against him every chance I had.
wake up people, he is in office and he will remain there until HE decides different.
We could vote him out but that just won't happen for he is now "a career politician" and the voters will continue to vote him in......besides with the millions of illegal voters being bussed around the country, elections are rigged..... bahahahaha

Here's another "small" reason why Collins is tough to defeat... I heard recently [although unconfirmed] that he is worth over $100M.
As of 2014: "Collins has an estimated net worth of $65.9M, making him one of the wealthiest members of Congress and the richest among all members from New York."
