Just a sidebar here. There's a whole "city" down here that runs solely on solar (did I just say that?).
Anywho, it's called Babcock Ranch. It's located in Charlotte County (FL), and it produces something like 75-megawatts of solar energy. The "planned community" was started in 2005. The plan was for a total of 20,000 permanent jobs to be added to sustain up to 50,000 residents in 19,000 households.
WINK News just did a story yesterday asking the city "caretakers" how/if the tariff would affect Babcock Ranch. Their answer was, "It wouldn't affect them". At least, not in the immediate future. It seems they had the foresight to purchase 10's of thousands of "extra" solar panels, for future use.
I'm not sure about the washing machines, though.
