Myrtle Street resident in Le Roy says she saw her neighbor shoot a squirrel with pellet gun

A caller to dispatch reports she witnessed her neighbor shoot a squirrel with a pellet gun. This allegedly happened on Myrtle Street, on the southside of the roadway, east of Clay Street.

Le Roy Police are responding.

Ummmm Why? Why are the police responding? Removing varmints from your yard with an air rifle is perfectly legal. Waste of Police time and resources.
To the person that called in, keep your eyes in your own damn yard you nosey neighbor. Your that neighbor no one likes.....yeah thats you.

Please just leave the squirrels alone…they don’t do any harm…they are nature’s critters. I actually have squirrels eating from my hand…they watch for me and know I am going to feed them every morning. I love my birds, squirrels, bunny’s and chipmunks, MUCH MORE THAN I DO FOR PEOPLE.

I agree with most of what Christopher said, except for the nosey neighbor part, nosey neighbors are a good thing when somebody is breaking into YOUR house,
But squirrels can be a huge nunsence when they get in your walls and chew wires, kill em all!

I can certainly agree Gary, they can be a nuisance if they get into your attic, etc, , fortunately I haven’t had that happen, a couple years back though, I had a mama squirrel with nest just outside my attic window give birth it was so totally amazing to see this mama and her two babies…I would watch them everyday, she fed and took care of her babies , until they were old enough to go on their own.
