Pedestrian struck at Ellicott and Jackson streets in the city

A pedestrian has been struck by a vehicle and is injured at Ellicott and Jackson streets. City fire and Mercy medics are on scene.

UPDATE 12:37 p.m.: A car was turning left from Jackson Street onto Ellicott Street. The light was green and two pedestrians were crossing in the crosswalk, but the driver reported he did not see them and "bumped" into them. An adult female was transported to UMMC after being evaluated by a medic. She complained of hip pain. A child who was walking with her was not injured. The driver was cited by a police officer.

Accident with unknown injuries reported in Elba

A motor-vehicle accident is reported in the area 7639 Batavia Stafford Townline, unknown injuries.

Elba fire and Mercy EMS dispatched.

UPDATE 10:05 p.m.: A first responder reports no injuries.

Car in the trees off the Thruway in Pembroke

A car has gone off the roadway and into the trees on the westbound side of the Thruway, in the area of mile marker 400.5.

Unknown injuries.

Pembroke and Indian Falls fire departments along with Mercy EMS dispatched.

UPDATE 8:59 a.m.: The driver has called dispatch and said she is not hurt.

Crash with unknown injuries reported at Route 63 and Mayne Road, Bethany

An accident with unknown injuries is reported on Route 63 at Mayne Road. Bethany and Stafford fire departments are called to respond along with Mercy medics. The call came through OnStar, the vehicle's emergency alerting system; no other calls received or other information available.

UPDATE 7:23 a.m.: Law enforcement at the scene reports being unable to locate the vehicle.

UPDATE 7:31 a.m.: Medics are told to stage in the area of Little Canada Road while law enforcement combs the area for the purported accident victim.

UPDATE 7:35 a.m.: OnStar received an accident notifcation, but could not provide dispatch with a vehicle description or other information. Since the vehicle has not been found, Bethany and Stafford and the other responders are back in service.

Two-car accident reported at West Main and Thomas, Batavia

A two-car accident is reported at West Main and Thomas Avenue, Batavia.

City fire and Mercy EMS responding.

There are believed to be minor injuries.

UPDATE 9:01 p.m.: City PD on scene, reporting no injuries.

Driver extricated after accident on Route 98 this afternoon

A driver was trapped in his car after it went off the road in the area of 9186 Alexander Road, Batavia, just before 3 p.m.

Town of Batavia firefighters worked for an hour to extricate the driver, who was both trapped in the vehicle and trapped by limbs from a tree. He suffered only bumps and bruises and was transported to UMMC. 

The vehicle struck a mailbox and a blue spruce tree.

One-car crash with injuries reported on Main Road, Corfu

A one-car accident with injuries is reported at 1428 Main Road in Corfu. East Pembroke Fire Department and Mercy medics are responding.

UPDATE 1:14 p.m.: Pembroke and Indian Falls fire departments are requested to the scene for mutual aid to East Pembroke.

Car on its side in yard of house on Byron Road

A green SUV is on its side in the front yard of a residence at 7862 Byron Road, Stafford. 

Nobody is in or around the vehicle, according to a deputy who was on scene soon after the accident was reported. 

The vehicle is registered to a 26-year-old Batavia resident.

Car vs. pole accident reported on Byron Road, Stafford

A car vs. pole accident with air-bag deployment and possible injuries is reported by a passerby at 8122 Byron Road. Stafford Fire Department and Mercy medics are responding.

UPDATE 7:41 p.m.: The male driver is being transported to UMMC for injuries sustained after his vehicle struck the pole while going "approximately 50 miles an hour."

Car vs. deer accident with injuries reported on eastbound Thruway, Le Roy responding

A car vs. deer accident with injuries is reported on the eastbound Thruway at mile marker 377.8. Le Roy fire and ambulance are responding.

UPDATE 6:29 p.m.: State troopers are also responding. The Thruway Authority spoke with the driver who told them they could not get out of the vehicle.

UPDATE 7:14 p.m.: The assignment is back in service. Le Roy medics went back in service without transporting anyone.

A motor vehicle accident with injuries is reported in the area of 7652 Clinton Street Road, Bergen.

Bergen Fire and ambulance dispatched.

UPDATE 8:35 a.m.: All occupants out. Pole snapped.

Accident with injuries reported on the Thruway

A two-car accident with injuries is reported in the area of mile marker 397.5 on the eastbound Thruway.

The injuries initially described are not serious.

East Pembroke fire and Mercy EMS dispatched.

UPDATE 6:16 p.m.: A second Mercy ambulance requested to the scene, non-emergency.

Car reportedly hits tree on Caswell Road

A car vs. tree accident is reported in the area of 7691 Caswell Road.

There are unknown injuries.

Byron and South Byron fire departments along with Mercy EMS dispatched.

UPDATE 6:15 p.m.: A utility pole may also have been hit.

UPDATE 6:37 p.m.: Byron is back in service.

Car vs. pedestrian accident reported in Stafford

A car vs. pedestrian accident was reported about 10 minutes ago in Stafford. Mercy medic #3 is dispatched in non-emergency mode along with the Stafford fire. The location is Ellicott Street Road and South Lake Road.
